A friend at work has just bought a 1990 535, E34 shape? He's already decided he wants more out of it, can anyone point me in the direction of where to try for relevant parts? Thinking tubular manifold & possibly rest of system, induction kit (his idea not mine) high lift cams as Kent don't list it or any other tricks anyone might know? Beer tokens for the right advice That is all ,thank you

m30 engines (which it has BTW ) are not the cheapest things to tune. basically your looking for a freer flowing zorst, tube manifold, bored throttle body, decent panel filter or cold air fed replacement, schrick cam or AFAIk newman do schrick type grinds and ported head. and that ain't cheap! you'll be paying about £500 for a manifold, £350 for a cam, £120 for a throttle body. theres a guy in last months total bmw that has a racing dynamics version, pumped out 3.8 litre not sure of the rest of the spec, but its rocks out 300bhp. best people to ask about them is martin hunnibal in norfolk or fritzbits, or this lot are real friendly (I am on there) forum.bmw5.co.uk/

The U.S guys are keen on turbo charging them - I looked into it but the manifolds are no good for RHD cars, the exhaust manifolds can be turned upside doen though which might help?
not sure on the ret though.
My 535 manual was plenty fast enough with the standard 220hp so with 300 it would be a riot.
