Hello everyone,
Firts,let me introduce myself.
My name is Sander de Jongh,i'm 21 years old and I live in Alkmaar, Holland.
My whole life i've been interested in motorvehicles,my dad was always tweeking and repairing cars for friend and family, and starting at age 4 I "Helped" him
When I reached the age of 18,i got my driverslicense, but as I still was a student,i couldn't afford a car,so ik kept driving my moped till I decided to quit school and start working at 21.
My employer gave me my first car,a 1993 alfa romeo 33 1,4ie.
It was in a not to good shape,but,being a car mechanic, I fixed the car,lowerd it,fit a sport exhaust,an 15" rims.
I drove it for a year, loving the sporty caresteristics of tje boxer engine, whit her lovely sound.
Then I decided I wanted a bigger car,whit a bigger engine.
When I got the 33,i became a member of the SCARB(the dutch alfa romeo club)
At the forum I spotted pictures of the alfa romeo 75(milano for the US members)
It was love at first sight.
So,my new car had to be a 75.
After a long and hard search I found one I really liked.
It was already lowerd, had 16" Borbet A rims, and the whole condition of the car was good, cause it had been put away for 4 years.
I bought the car, drove it home, but whilst doing that, the brakes died,200km from home
Luckaly,i had my dad whit me,and he was so brave to drive my new car home.
At home we started to repair a lot of things.
Spent a lot of money,to get the car ready for the road again.
After a month of hard work, the car was ready for the APK(MOT)
I sold my 33 and started driving the 75.
Over time I started changing some stuff.
-Front and rear Koni Yellow shock absorbers
-Removed the mid-silencer
-Fit A CSC rear-silencer
-Sprayed my borbet wheels white
-Did a lot of small things at the interior.
This is how my 75 looks at this moment:
After fully repairing my 75,i wanted to own another car, just for fun, repairing it,and to get it ready for road/race/drifting.
I bought an alfetta 2,0 from 1984.
The drivetrain is nearly exact to the 75(both cars have the alfa romeo trans axle platform, wich means that the engine is in the front of the car, whist the gearbox/diff is in the back),exept for the engine, the 75 has a 1,8ie(electronic injection),the alfetta has a 2,0 carburator engine.
Also,the alfetta has a 25% LSD(great for drifting ;D)
At the moment I am restoring/fixing the alfetta,it has no APK(MOT) ( it has been put away for 5 years) and I have to fix a lot of stuff(welding, fixing the brakes)
This is how I looks:
I will try to keep you guys up to date on my projects.
Since i'm dutch,i hope my english is good enough
Hope you like it ;D
