i read an artcle from gm in yank land about the 2.0l drag racer they built. 2nd fastest fwd drag car of all time, a chevvy with a 2.0 ecotec engine, which eventually they got to produce 1100bhp, turbocharged pf course, but still pretty handy. uk.youtube.com/watch?v=pCeKjafSV6ocheck how its mounted, yet still fwd

I did see an Ecotec at the Sema show in Las Vegas in 2006, it was making over 1400BHP, the turbo was as big as the engine. GM offer over the counter tuning goodies for them too.
In my experence, this is a very good engine and is only let down by the electronics. which can be replaced.

Great video kee! So, is the US Ecotec the same as what's in Vauxhalls / Opels? Or is the American version different like the Daewoo / Vauxhall Ecotecs are different? If it's the same, it looks like there's no need to pay over the odds for an XE, just get an Ecotec for much less money and import some US tuning goodies!
