Not sure how i've managed it really. I've always been quite vocal about my distate of fake patina etc etc. However I pulled up outside the flat yesterday and a guy walking past went "wow not seen a rat look car round here" lol. Nothings fake btw. The dents aren't caused by me, the paint is just curse word, the primer is where i've welded it, the rust is real etc etc. Just found it quite funny that i've apparantley ended up with a car that is in a style that I don't like, but I love how it looks. Oh well. Matt

That's actually pretty cool. Needs a homebrew blow through turbo system and a 50 shot of progressive N2O now! Ya, RLY! ;D

'It just ended up looking shabby' = cool. 'I decided to expend some effort to make it look shabby when previously it was not' = not cool.

your plate: RLY? LOL
I know what you mean. All my cars (bar the Cadillac, for now at least) are shabby, dented, vague collections of odd stickers, bits of primer or rattle can black over repairs or stopping rust getting worse, or not... with steelies or mags or whatever and sun baked paint and the like. I even have Mexican blankets in the Oldsmobile.
And I am also a moaner about "rat look".
meh

Shall be going lower pretty soon. It was lower the other day but it was on the bumpstops so I decided to do it properly. So far i've got some Mk3 Golf struts converted to coilovers, ajustable bottom wishbones and a custom back axle, just got to weld some coilover mounts into the rear inner wings and i'll be away.

Oh and I nearly had some Y4 RLY plates made for RR'08, would have been funny if my and tcc would have turned up with the same idea.

That looks like it means business and gets a damn good thrashing in all conditions - nothing wrong there mate. I dread to think how the Trump would look if I don't do something when I'm ready to roll. It screams a sub-conscious JPS special at me BIG style. I Likeeeeee ;D

This is how rat look coolness started IMO, enthusiasts fixing and running/improving their cars rather than scrapping or worrying about polishing and minor dings... Love the Range Rover wheels BTW

it doesn't matter if it's a Morris Marina or a Toyota Celica - it's what you do with it that counts

I'm really pleased with how the wheels have turned out. Glad I didn't get chance to refurbish them now.

This is how rat look coolness started IMO, enthusiasts fixing and running/improving their cars rather than scrapping or worrying about polishing and minor dings... Love the Range Rover wheels BTW They're off one of the old RWD Fiats - an Argenta or Mirafiori, something like that. RRs weren't 4 x 98 But the similarity is chronic. If you got some 124 Spider Cromadoras on the car with it slightly lower that would look great also. Love the wheels as they are though - would an Abarth or woodrim Nardi steering wheel be too much of a cliche? Has it got one of those FIRE engines that you rev till it sounds like its exploding and yet you're only doing 30? ;D

Yup its a fire engine, valves bounce at 8600rpm apparantley which = 64mph in 2nd gear lol.
Fitting a Fiat Stilo 1.4 16v engine to it in the next few weeks when my ignition bits turn up.

i've slightly ratted mine, the red paintwork is in good condition bar a few missing parts here and there, but only rust is on the bonnet lip (so far ;D ) the silver was never very good and made a lot worse when i bought some primer when the rust started showing through
