I bought this a couple of months ago just to drive to the Polo Show in. Well it served its purpose so now it has to go.
Its a 1984 (A) Vw Polo C Squareback 1043cc. Its in the wonderful hearing aid beige with the odd patch of rust.
The mileage is showing approx 65,000. I have no idea if this is genuine but then lets be honest, who cares when its this old and this cheap!
It will need a new passenger door as the current one has well and truly had it! I have a spare door in yellow that I will include with the car. The front wings have got a couple of dents in them so I will also chuck in 2 unsprayed pattern wings.
Now to the engine which if i'm honest has probably seen better days. Once its running it goes really well, its just getting it running thats the challenge. I think the carb is shagged, which isnt being helped by the gasket between the carb and the inlet being knackered aswell. If you were to replace that gasket I think the car would run better (not perfectly but better). Having said this the car did manage a 180 mile round trip to a VW show without any dramas.
The only other problem I can think of is one of the CV joints is on its way out as you can hear it vibrating when you have the steering at a certain angle. I think I have a complete drive shaft kicking around somewhere which if I can find it will also come with the car.
The car has just run out of Tax and is MOT'd until the 22nd October 2008, so if the buyer wanted to drive the car home I can still Tax the car until that date (at an additional cost to the buyer of course)
Any questions feel free to ask!
I'm thinking £150 is a fair price so lets see how we get on. The car is located in Epsom in Surrey, KT19 and is available for viewings most evenings and weekends.
Cheers
Sammo
