I cant quite believe it myself but I am getting shot of the GLT
A kind friend has given me his 240 estate, and all the performance parts going onto that.
The normal parts from the estate will be fitted to the GLT.
The good bits
So its a 1986 VOLVO 4 door saloon
Electric windows and mirrors
Leather seats
Sunroof
Central locking
Rust
New cambelt
New fuel filter
New plugs
New engine loom
Tow bar and full electrics (will tow its own weight no problem)
Pulls like a train
Top speed 120mph
It has never let me down
I have spent the last 3 years looking after this car to the best of my abilities, it past its last 2 MOTs. I have done quite a bit of welding in problem areas but there's more to do.
The reasons I'm getting rid of it.
The estate is more handy for me being self employed
The estate has EFI as opposed to K-jet (I prefer efi)
The estate is less rusty
Now the complicated bit/bad
The reason the estate is up for grabs is beacause the MOT expired and its been sitting there with fuxored bushes and brakes. so the 244 bits are going on and the 245 bits will be on the GLT.
This means that the GLT will be reverted back to standard requiring new rubber bushes, brakes, and front shocks.
My friends and I are all getting together to do this swap over a weekend. I really want to see the GLT go onto someone else who will look after it so my plan is to fit new bushes on the GLT before it all goes back together, however this costs time and money and theres no point sticking new bushes on it if its going to get scrapped so I am trying to find a potential buyer now.
Cost £150 as is (no new bushes)
or £300 (with new bushes)
Pictures.........
