So my brother is moving back from Boston in September and I'd said we'd visit before he left. Thought we'd tie it into a visit to my sister in Toronto, Cananda and what better way to travel between them than in a truck by road ;D ;D Well, after a quote of over $5k for a Suburban or equivalent we downsized to a Ford Edge, very nice all the comforts etc so off we went. Plan was to take 4 days, and stay away from the main routes/toll roads and obviously keep an eye out for some old cars! Boston first though...... I used to think these day vans were pretty big!!!!!! Le Baron, (by Maserati it says on the back - Yeah right!!!) Not retro.... just ridiculous Retro Cafe for breafast, wiith some retro german parked outside.... Lots of these around for city tours (The DKW, not the T Rex!) And it's little brother Not a real street car, but a real 'Hog' ;D and finally a nice pickup More to follow

Actually that's a Chrysler TC by Maserati. If memory serves the manual versions had a Maserati engine. Maserati did the bodywork and interior, Chrysler did the drivetrain.
Good idea that was, Chrysler drivetrain from the 1980s and Italian electrics.

So what did you hire, from where and how much was it? I ask because in 2 weekends I'll be driving from Toronto to Connecticut and don't want to spend a fortune on car hire.

Got a Ford Edge SUV (same as the Kuga) from Avis. Think it was about £600 for 10 days, all in. The killer is the drop off in a different country as they load it quite heavily. Not everyone will do it though, had to search around a bit. Sure you could get something smaller, I just wanted a truck! (Well, little truck!)
