But the 6th one got the hub nut off! Yay This is way you shouldn't buy cheap stuff, or at least make sure the stuff has a life times warrenty It took a 6ft steel bar and full body weight on the end of a braker bar to get the thing loose! Unfortunatly after all that the new driveshaft was too short! So now the CRX is off the road while I get the old one rebuild. Yet another job that hasn't gone as planned!

I have a special breaker bar for hub nuts that is the bar from a set of dumbells (rated to over 200kg). I got an old 12" breaker bar and welded up the joint at a slight angle to give clearance. I built up the handle with weld and hammered it into the hollow bar.
Works a treat on Mini hub nuts (tight as you can plus 1 full turn).

Thats when it comes in handy to have 3/4" gear Landrover discovery 200TDi crankshaft damper bolts, to remove, damper locked against chassis, 3/4" power bar, 6ft scaffold tube and my 140kg svelte frame hanging off it to slacken it.

I had a pair of subframe bolts on a new shape transit the other week, broke 2 half inch snap on bars and a 3/4 reducer on an inch gun. In the end i cut the wishbones off.

Hang on, arent a couple of those bits Halfords Proffesional range? If so they have a lifetime warranty. Just take them back. It must of been damn tight to break them though.

So what we're saying here is because I'm a skinny lad I'd need a 12ft scaff tube on the end and there's still no guarantee I'd get it to budge

I know that feeling. gone through a few cheap wrenches, now have a 3/4" breaker bar for backup.

I have a 39inch long 3/4 breaker bar, and I also have a 4 foot long metal pole from the top of a clothes rail (shop/industrial quality) to put on the breaker bar, just in case its stubborn

Ive broken some Halfords pro stuff before but i used to work for them so it got replaced the next day lol. I seem to remember the lifetime warranty didn't cover moving parts (i.e. ratchet mech's) but i don't know whether we just used to use that to stop people bringing back their 'left out in the rain/found in the scrappy' ratchets lol
List of Halfords pro casualties Snapped a breaker bar head (the pivot section on the bar) 13mm short socket (split the side) 10mm socket (chunk snapped off) any screwdriver in the range lol
