I've almost finished rebuilding my toyota 5k engine ( at VERY long last)
It turins over by hand, has oil pressure as I've turned the oil pump through the dizzy drive to prime it, but when I turn it over with a spanner on the crank pully it seems very stiff, as if it's got huge compression. I can turn it over, but it is stiffer than my 4k is. The engine is pretty standard apart from a mild kent cam. Only the top end was fully stripped as well. Should it be ok to put it in & try & get it running, or is there a way I can check compression before I fit it?
All ideas welcome.
