Did they ever do a 2-door wagon? If not, someone should make one! Not that I aware of - I have been thinking about doing a 3dr wagon for a while It needs to use the doors from a 3Dr but I haven't worked out how to get the rear side widows to look right as a 1 piece. They could be done as a 2 piece using the glass from the rear doors, I haven't done any measurments to work out if the glass needs to be cut down though. A scrap dealer/banger racer mate of mine reconed he weighed in a 2 door sierra mk1 estate a few years ago. I told him they were never made and he said it must have been a weird prototype or something. I never saw it so he may have been talking bull. When he said "it was absolutely mint" it kinda points towards the talking flannel theory. the following week he said he weighed in a 4 door Avenger Tiger that was "absolutley mint" too. Truth or curse word, we'l never know.

I spotted a boggo 1.6 mk1 estate the other day, must be rare as hell now. My boss had a 4x4 estate a few years ago that we boshed a cossie, full RS kit etc etc.

despite not really being a sierra fan I feel strangely drawn to those mk1's I can quite easily visualise one in black with heavy slammage. Think my dads mate has one sat in his back field as well

I have never heard even a rumour of anything like that so I would recon on it being a homebrew if your mate really did scrap one. Someone did set up converting Sapphires to 2 doors, don't know how many got converted or if any survive.

I used to have a 1.8 Estate. Went sideways without asking and in almost a year all I had to change was the fan switch. Also once managed to get 8 other people in (on private land of course) and I think they are cool, especially in Ghia spec with the roof rails

Going by the colour, alloys and the discription I think that is a Chasseur, my father had one for years. It got scrapped after a back street garage bodged an engine job and it never ran right afterwards. I would have saved it as the shell was still very good but he only told me he was scrapping it after it had been crushed

There was a fantastic one that went to crail about 5 years ago, white, grey bumpers, roof bars, cossie lattice alloys, and a cossie in it, such a sleeper and fast as hell, drifted it and dounut'ed about the oval like it was nobody buisness. Such a sleeper, i'm sure it had a towbar too.

Thinking about it it really does sould like rubbish, especially considering the curse word he "saved" and then flogged me. Mint Sierras and Avengers would be punted on at a huge profit I would have thought.

mk2's don't have the style the mk1 had, got to watered down i think personally even though they were mechanicly much improved. cant get much more 80's than an XR4i, i'd love to build an estate version with the red piping, a mad rear spoiler and etched side windows etc.

It does look neat, neater than my Sapph Chasseur, People tend to not like the 1.8CVH but if its a good un and you want a great daily with RWD and cruisability win... go for it. Looks like a great deal, on reason I sold my sapph as not a lot of hauling space, hot with an estate. loadsa space! Other reason was it felt boring compared to my midengined 120bhp blaster!

it doesn't matter if it's a Morris Marina or a Toyota Celica - it's what you do with it that counts

I do like the sierra estate, they didn't lose the jelly mould shape at all. Quite often estates end up looking a bit of an afterthought, but IMO it really suit the car.
YB powered estate FTW ;D

Many 1800CVHs don't get much past 100k before they hit trouble, my mates got one though and his is on 150k, still sweet as a nut and has never let him down. The secret is regular oil changes with good quality oil, these engines really like to sludge up!
