Is it Retro? Who knows, but probably not. Anyhoo a thread none the less! 2.0 16v 136,000 miles, FSH, 12 months MOT 1 advisory (Handbrake) 6 months tax, 4 new tyres, loads of recent bits, everything works. £1,100. Should be picking it up Tuesday night. First thing will be a full wash, polish, wax and shampoo of interior. Then fit a head unit. I should also be getting a KR cam put in in in October along with drilling the airbox, smoothing it out and dropping in a K&N panel filter. Should give it a bit more zoom! Nick

More pics after hooking up with my mate Rik tonight. Prity curse word shots by my standards but I was more interested in driving it tonight. Nick

You've owned 5 different models of VW in the past year.
Crikey.
I have to say... this looks to be the pick of the bunch for me! (other than the Polo of course....).

CHeers Adam :-)
I have to say this is the best car I've had since my 96bhp classic mini. It's just awesome, I have to agree with the old press clippings that state it's one of the best handling fwd cars of it's time.

A couple of observations from my first 36 hours of Rado ownership.
1)Other drivers on the road. Whilst the majority go about their daily business I do got the odd quizzical look from folks who either don’t know what it is or haven’t seen one in a while. As for dubbers I’m getting far more thumbs up and waves than I ever did in the golfs or the passat.
2)My Co-Workers. Had lots of comments from folks I work with ranging from “What is it?”, “Cool Corrado” and “How can you afford a Porsche?”. The main theme running through all of them is they think it must have cost loads of money and they stare in disbelief when I tell them I paid £1100 for it.
3)Living with it. God damn it’s thirsty, yet to see over 30mpg on the MFA although I think it’s under reading a bit. I’m going to get the timing and fuelling check at my local VAG specialist in the near future. Of all the dubs I’ve had though it’s the nicest drive and the best handling. It’ll happily potter along and be comfortable and quite but when you drop your right foot it howls like a banshee and stiffens up to become a brilliant B road blaster.

That looks like a rather clean rado. Do you have any plans for it?

Nope no leather, but I'm not a leather fan anyway. It always seems to slippy for me and I can't get comfortable. I don't mind half leather though.
As for plans, not much really. Got some 1.8 16v KR cams to go in it which will up it from 138 to approx 150 bhp and I'll drill the airbox and drop a K&N in it.
The wheels will be changed at somepoint but cash and something suitable but different will have to be sorted first.
Other than that just tidying up the paint work and enjoy driving it. I don't think stylisticly they need to be fiddled with as they look good out of the box.

That looks gorgeous, and you can't beat looks like that for only £1100.
When I had my VR6 a lot of people had no idea what it was. I only really had a couple of other Corrado owners wave at me when driving along. This was in 1999/2000 so things may have changed now.
It used to average around 28mpg.

Also, you should all-red the rear clusters. They make all the difference on a black 'Rado,my mate did them on his and it transformed it!IMO thats the only thing that really lets them down.
Good buy BTW

I thought about all red but I'm not sure, I think I would rather just "orange" the reverse lamps but not really sure how to go about it.
What panels you got mate, Not got a late hump style bonnet in good nick have you? Mine has the mother of all stone chips in it that has left a small crater on the leading edge.

Not worry, I'm thinking of having the bonnet resprayed anyway. Getting dents away out in the next month to sort out all the little car park dings. I've managed to sort a discount by getting 4 mates together at once :-)
