Love that colour though.

Ahhh, good stuff ian!
Colour 357 is "Gold Green / Olive Metallic" and should be avaliable through an old motor factors or similar. Its a classic Datto colour. When you polish it up it'll be that crazy gold with a green tinge to it!
8K is mental.....and your lucky its not rotted to oblivion! Its a Mk1 (not a Mk2 like we discussed on the phone). But the engine I have will still fit A-OK in it.
The engines only gonna be knackered because its sat so long. Drop that lump I have mate into it and she'll fly!

Your car is not 'epic', this thread is not 'epic'....the OCEAN is epic, the UNIVERSE is epic.... please stop misusing this word!! It would appear Hotrods are the new VWs - aint fashion funny! '69 BUICK LESABRE 350

Thanks for all the positive feed back guys, thought I was in a spot of bother having found it hard to source parts but a massive thanks to johnnysomersett for the engine & auxilleries I'm on the move again. My plans are to fit the 120a eng/gearbox,a home made K&N,lower it a bit & if they fit lay on a set of reliant scimitar rims or Stag & maybe a bigger exhaust, other than that the car stays true to what it is. I am based in Bristol not far from where the car has spent all it's life. My mate has apparently found the original bill of sale, service receipt & even a storage bill from when it ws waxoyled & laid up in storage.I found this in the car it's the pick list for the tool bag! Also this beauty..................

oh my god thats a black widow might be a daddy long legs though, I'm not hot on spiders... It's actually a Datsununderbonnet black mamba so I've been told!!!! Went to a local show today & met an old chap with a 6 cylinder Laurel, told me it's 1 of only 6 in the country. Also met a mate from the triumph stag owners club & he is giving me a set of Stag wheels for my 100a. Have only just got back from holiday but as soon as I can get hold of johnnysomersett I will get my engine sorted & mot the green goblin.... In the mean time I've done a bit more on this,my long term project I've now had for 3 years. These are just a snipet of 3 years work & probarbly £3000 including engine rebuild I did myself, front axle rebuild & hundreds of small items nobody sees. Hope you all like................

Moved the car yesterday to my bro's place,so went over today & washed the 'rice sparkler 'off, the tree sap & moss has really dug in deep maybe to deep as the paint is quite rough. Tried to T-cut & 3M compound clean but this was as good as I could get before it rained. At least the interior is good. Next is dropping out the engine but I don't have a hoist so may have to drop out the subframe unless I can source a cheapy.

Picked my spare engine up on saturday from a member of DATSUNOWNERSCLUB.CO.UK & we struggled to get it in my van,the block must be 50kg of cast iron mate, peoper heavy.

cool car!
I would have thought if you clay it that most of the tree sap etc will be lifted off.
Try using a meguiars clay bar on it
