;D Hi all,my name is Ian from good old Brizzle & have just joined the forum as today I bought an 8500 mile from new immaculate 100a.I say immac but the engine has seized & done all the pushrods in & bent 2 valves.Absolutely no rust as it was waxoyled from new. Are there other 100a owners on here that could give me some tech advice?I would like to know if a nissan micra lump will go in as it loks the same or if there is a slighty bigger cc engine that will fit,say a 1300 from a nissan sunny or something. I will post pics of my new beauty over the weekend as it needs a really good wash & polish as its been under a tree for the last 3 years. Even has the original tyres all round & genuine tool bag & hand book too.

well howdy doody, welcome to the forum.
I have a 100A (F-II)
Firstly: Change the tyres. They'll be screwed. I just pulled an original spare off one of mine - complete with original japanese air I think - and it was perished beyond doubt hahaha.
Engine Options
Not a lot really. Due to the E10/F10 (100A) running a one of a kind subframe amongst the Datsun range, this limits your options considerably - unless you are a master engineer. The engine is very similar to the British A-Series engines (were originally produced under license then bettered and became their own), with the gearbox sharing the engine oil and being located 'behind' the block. The only real engine options are to use another A-Series.
A-series come in a few common flavours:
A10 - 998cc - Found in 100A's, FWD gearbox, revvy & fun but gutless. 3-bearing crankshaft means not as strong as it should be
A12 - 1170cc - Found in 120A's in the FWD format and also found in small sunnys in RWD format. If you were to find one of these you'd need to source a FWD gearbox and do some 'creative' engineering. In FWD format it'll bolt straight in pipe for pipe, bolt for bolt. 5-bearing crankshaft means its a bit stronger
A14 - 1397cc - Found in Sunnys & Pulsars. The FWD ones still bolt in ok but have clearance issues with the bonnet as the longer stroke makes them considerably higher.
A15 - 1488cc - Over here mainly found in Vanettes. Great for making it go silly quick but require a lot of faffing about to get it to fit sump & height-wise
A micra lump would be real hard to get in there as its based on a completely different layout and a more 'standard' subframe.
With the A-series upgrades, you would have to make sure you mate the right strength gearbox up with the lump as they don't take too well to being made to strain.
Your best bet is to source an A12 engine & box and bolt it in if you can...or an A10 direct replacement. can you do engine swaps?
anything else?

Thanks for all the input mate, just had a look at your posts, your car is the curse word.....Definite inspiration. Engine swaps aren't a prob I've always done my own mechanical work & swapped many a motor. The prob I have then is sourcing parts,Don't suppose you've got a spare cylinder head for sale as mine has got no valve guide on 1 inlet. Also what about gasket sets. Your car was lowered by chopping,is there anyone that makes lowering springs for them.

Thanks mate she's my little baby really....even if i do thrash her It was originally lowered by cutting all round. It now has Custom-built coilovers up front as it was the only way to get that low without being on the strut-cast (it was for a while LOL). No-one makes lowering springs at all. You could have some made specially though by any spring manufacturer. Havent got a spare head I'm afraid BUT i do have a complete A12 engine & FWD Gearbox complete with all ancilleries bar a belt, fuel pump and air filter (which you no doubt have on your seized engine - all compatable) that i may be convinced to part with. Its destiny was to go into my 100A but i don't have the time to do it to be honest. I have spares too to go with it - new clutch, dizzy parts, oil filter and i think a gasket set too.
