Is anybody feeling this... Lotus Cortina steels on a Ford Ka? ;D You'll have to use your imagination now. I've mocked them up on a green car but the plan is to fit them to a black Ka, so a black on black colour scheme. I'm thinking of fitting them with Cortina dog dish hubcaps and trim rings with a tall tyre. They go straight on but just touch the top corner of the caliper. A grinder or wheel spacer should overcome that problem. They sit quite far out because of the rwd offset I assume. Will this cause problems? Cool or deluded!?!?!

My opinion, for what it's worth... It could look awesome IF it's done right. I reckon the car definitely needs lowering lots. I would use a slightly stretched tyre (not whitewalls), dog dish hubcaps and maybe beauty rings... Some subtle bodywork modifications (just a bit of a clean-up of the lines) and I reckon that could look pretty damn cool. Just my opinion like Oh, I wouldn't space the wheel out any further, I'd just tickle the caliper instead.

I'm with BB on this, it could look freakin' awesome! I think the ride height is critical, but if it's going to look how i'm imagining it right now then definately go for it! I've seen mk3 Golfs pull off simular wheels (saw one just today as a matter of fact), it's a brave move but we like brave here on RR

Not 100% sure but I'd still do it myself!
Although those rims would look better on my Escort... But then that'd be boring. ;D

Could be good....
I reckon these on a 'collection' model (i.e. all one colour) with a hefty old stick-whack could really work.

That's my next project rumbled.... It will look great I'm sure either on a 'Collection' model with colour-coded bumpers or on a Povo-spec Ka in a basic solid colour like red or white. Likewise 1600E Rostyles would look great on a metallic-painted one.

I'm with Damaged, that's tidy. So would the same work on this? (LOL it up, Scummersett) Or should I just wear a big paper bag on my head when driving it?

Like this idea alot. Its sort of a cross polination of an idea popularised within the water cooled VW scene - air cooled look - using styling cues from the old and applying them to the new(ish).
I'm no old sage on the subject though - type[whatever numbers it is] will fill us in if nessarsary. But it seems to be what is encouraged on here, take an idea from one scene or modifying style, and apply it to another.
How about some low back classic style buckets, and a re trim to match on the back seat. and a mounteny type dished steering wheel.
don't these have an evolution of the x-flow (endurotec?) too, so there must be scope for some retro inspired tuning mods too.

Is anybody feeling this... I think once those rims are on the KA you should bolt the KA alloys to that old heap in the background.

That or a nice facial tattoo reading 'Whipped' *ps: only jessing poggy old boy, i have no proof of lead in the pencil (yet) so technically you are biologically superior than me - for now.BUTBack to the rims....i think they look good. You'll have to blacken the bumpers to make it sit better on the eye. Its giving me evil ideas about SWMBO's Ka....

not feeling the rims on the newbie, sorry. heinous act.....
but the rims on the ka could work, but ziptie larger diameter wheeltrims or leave them bare for a good style. either full colour coding of the 'kar' or have satin rimz
