Unfortunately like most I don't have the disposable income, space or time to build what comes into my head. I'm quite happy plodding along searching for bargain parts and tweaking as and when. LOL... i think you are the majority of us!! very few of us are privileged enough be in the situation of enough disposable income, space or time to do whats in our heads

Aren't all Slater's posts a little tongue-in-cheek? Having met the bloke and had an actual real-life conversation *gasps* with him, I can see nothing but an enthusiast who wants to build something a bit weird for the hell of it. And stir things up a bit along the way...
Forums are funny places - and I've always seen RR as a venue for cool cars built for nothing but nothing but fun. Whether it's slinging a V8 into a car that shouldn't have one, fitting stupid exhaust systems and too-wide rims, slamming/rimming (steady...) a thoroughly dull pensioner 3-cube or changing an entire body style, this is place to come.
Surely we should be concentrating on the cars. Attitudes are often lost in internet translation and stuff that sounds a bit wanky online is rarely intended to. Personally, I think It's a wicked little beastie and I certainly wouldn't build it. But only on RR could I find someone that did.
As Rmad says, it'd be more of a loss to RR to loose builders like Slater than it would to mud-sling them off the forum.
Just my £0.02, like.

Disappointing reaction. I like the car though; no it's not hugely radical but it does look sharp

1989 Peugeot 205. You know, the one that was parked in a ditch on the campsite at RRG'17... the glass is always full. but the ratio of air to water may vary.

That last bit made me sound Northern. I would never claim that there's anything wrong with being Northern, but as a Southerner I should mention that I certainly am not. North of the M25 the oxygen gets a bit thin...

Ive met Slater too, and he's a thoroughly nice fella. But, tongue-in-cheek or not, you gotta try not to offend your fellow man if you can. We have enough people against us without biting at each other and careless comments can - and will - offend some people. It very obviously came over as an all-purpose 'diss' to all 'da homies'...and people didnt like it. But, by-the-bye, like, lets just t'leave it at t'that ay (thats translated especially for you matty i never did find out who let a northerner into Linton )

I never did find out who let a northerner into Linton ) Fookin' reet, laaaaaaar As for Slater, he's like his cars - you love him or you hate him. Or, in my case, you think he's a good enough chap who's probably a bit bored and wants to stir up some shiz on the squinternet Back OT, I love the Bucket-spec slamblock.

Ive met Slater too, and he's a thoroughly nice fella. Thats what I don't get, I've met Slater a few times and he is a really nice guy. Anyway this isn't a discussion on cars any more so I'm going to lock it and hope he sticks the car here.
