Those who frequent the "South West Meet" thread may already be aware of this event, but for those who don't heres is some pics from Dakota Drag Strip today................ Retro Rides Regulars in attendance were, My good self, Cheeqi, Death Proof and Von Loxlee, appologise to anyone else there An early rise to meet Dave and his 1275 Mini My mate Lee's Saxo VTS he takes it very, very seriously! As you can see from his interior. ATM the cars just got a s/s manifold + exhaust, induction kit and piper cams, but he's got DTA management to go on it and he's saving for a supercharger conversion. Trust me he loves Saxo's (well some ones got too ) He ran a PB 1/8 mile of 9.5 sec which is very respectable for a saxo putting out 136 BHP! Then me and Lee got creative with the tyre pen Tasty Ford Model A running a 2.0 pinto Street Wars at Dakota drag strip near Honiton Me vs. Dave's mini Some nice retros getting ready to race! Lee's saxo preparing to beat a Clio 182/192 whateveritscalled Me and Cheeqi queueing up for a chip fat vs. petrol battle, we raced 3 time. I won the first two (due to pure luck), then on the third run he had his launch down to a tee and with the help of 24 psi of boost (and lots of smoke!) I lost, arrr well you gotta love it ;D My best time of the day was a 10.764 sec 1/8 mile, which I am quite happy with ;D www.streetnights.com/I've got some video's of the racing but the computer is being retarded at the moment, so I'll post 'em later.................

ahh hello then! lol They are 165/50/r15's stretched on They look sweet! e21's are such a euro slag the stretch suits it down to the ground So poorly shot videos from swmbo's camera......... Nice 24v Capri Vs. a 1.6 Xflow Anglia Estate = Capri won Me vs. Cheeqi (in the Bias company 405) check out the smoke screen from the exhaust. His homemade direct induction system was genius and sounded the nuts, I am sure he'll post pics of it. I think this is the third run when he beats me. Me vs. my mate dave and his mini = Win for me Lee's cam'd Saxo VTS vs. a Clio 192 or 182 = Another win for the Saxo Pity it ate its gearbox shortly afterwards, spilling its oily guts all over lane 2 closing it Some more vids to come later! Why is my computer soooooo slow

Popped my drag race cherry today Had an excellent day, nice to put faces to names. Saturday afternoon was spent removing the headlight and replacing it with this (lovingly crafted from a 3l water container, half a roll of gaffer tape and a squirt of satin black) which looked like this and removing this and replacing it with this ;D As well as a bit of turning it all up a bit. While I raced SWMBO had the camera and was wandering around taking pictures, so aside from the abundance of Scooby pictures she took here's a selection, in no particular order Von Loxlee Ghee60 Stance? [churchill] Oh yes [/churchill] Safety car Engine Donor + JDMboy ;D Low5 + JDMboy Side Story: As some will remember, 2 weeks ago JDMboy bought this, as his impending move onto the property ladder was going to lead to him having to part with his beloved JDM Integra Type R, which in turn would leave a Honda shaped hole in his life. Which, after a bit of a tickle with the stick and some satin black rattlecan detail last weekend had ended up looking like this This morning he handed over the 'teg to its new owner then headed out to Dakota to meet up with us and try his hand at the 1/8 mile in the Civic, unfortunately, he didn't bring his license with him. As it's no license-no race, our mate Jack, who handily always carries his license on him, suggested letting him use the car, what with it already having passed scrutineering and all that. Thus it was that Jack had his first run and came back round saying 'Needs a diet' resulting in the pair of them doing this resulting in this taking up residence next to the paddock area for the afternoon See, happy JDMboy Admittedly, after spending the afternoon watching his car being beasted up the 1/8 he was wishing he'd remembered his license. How about some vids, shot by SWMBO on her fone Me popping my drag strip cherry (and being beaten by Robin) and being beaten again by Robin 3rd time lucky, my best time of the day at 10.705 on 90% veg oil Beaten by Jack Vs Daves Mini Dodge Dart solo run 10.744 showing 29psi on the boost gauge Really enjoyed it, the diseasel went well and survived 29psi without letting go. Got back at 6 and spent an hour and a half returning it to daily driver spec ready for tomorrow. Would say I had pod face but it wasn't Santa Pod, it was Smeatharpe so maybe it's 'tharpe face I've got. Thanks to Robin and friends for helping out with some sleeved clothing for me. Roll on Santa Pod next month ;D

Doubt ill be at the next one in it, hopefully ill br swapping engines Might go up in the daily driver Alfa GTV on 18's lol Should be a laugh!
