This is held every year near Langport. Friday is a kind of cheap preview day as stuff is still turning up.
Some interesting stuff there all the same:
Just as you walk in, right next to the chemical toilets was this Ferrari 308 Dino
A genuine cherished classic, it was polished up but still had a reasonable amount of patina. Definitely not a chequebook restoration as evidenced by the repair on the drivers door!
This sort of thing is to be encouraged!
It's essentially a Steam fair but there's cars there too. Not too many there today but still some good stuff.
I really liked this Jag. It looks good but still looks it's age. Local car too judging by the number plate.
bit of engine bay detailing has taken place though.
This van was also rather smart.
This Model T was the best of the lot for me. Restored, but still looks the business.
What's the PCD on these? D'ya think I could band them with some MDF FTW?
The ultimate wood rimmed wheel, reckon it would fit the Golf?:
Quick commercial break:
I'd bloody love one of these.
Nice Thames.
This was fantastic though, miniature Atkinson. Looks like it drives and everything. I'd use it as my daily commute if it was mine!
In the bike section was this hardtailed Triumph. Genuine 70's surviver, it's even colour coded BROWN!
WARNING>
This took place in Somerset so now follows the obligatory tractor photos. Click away if you have to.... but there's PATINA aplenty to follow.
There are tractors older and rattier in daily use near me (seriously!) but I like this. Not only have you got the tired rusty paint going on but look at the oily slab of an engine.
[Wurzel] I've got a rat look combine harvester and I'll give you the key...[/Wurzel]
It's not wet, that's oil! (Guest appearance by one of our dogs)
Rusty body, smart wheels. Surely qualifies as Rat Look?
Except the Vee Dub crew couldn't fake patina like this in a million years
I liked this too, looks like it's just been driven out of a barn after 30 years!
Brass plate detail from the same
Finally, I love the lines on this. Hard as nails!
Shame that bloody caravan was behind it.......
Time to go before this becomes retro Tractor! But I will mention the pair of Fordson's that I didn't manage to photograph. One with a Ford V8 lorry engine and the other with a twin turbo. Modified Classics Somerset Levels style.....
Altogether now,
"Drink Up Thy Zider, Drink Up Thy Zider
For Tonight We'll Merry Be
We'll Knock The Milkmaids Over And Roll 'em In The Clover
The Corns Half Cut And So Are We"
