(I put this up on tb but wondered if any of you lot could give me any answers about the backpressure thing)
I noticed the front box blowing a little on the car and thought I'd ask the local tyre and exhaust shop for a quote, the rest of the system is in good shape and the man was trying to sell me a the whole downpipe and front box, eventually he quoted me for just the box at £65. :grrr:
So as I was leaving I asked one of the lads who works there (he was interested in the car and we chatted when he fitted my tyres back in March) if I could have a bit of old pipe that they get, it just so happens they had some pipe in the size I was after, it was even the right shape (long straight bit with a 90 degree bend).
When I got it home I noticed that it was a bit rusty in places so I cut out the good straight bit and welded it to a 90 degree piece I've had lying around.
Looks about right, I need to weld a flared end on forward end of the pipe.
Filed off the snotty bits and hey presto,
I wonder if it will have an adverse effect on performance/backpressure etc?.
Seeing as the fitting is free at that exhaust shop perhaps I should go down tomorrow and ask them to stick it on for me:rofl:
I also got round to fitting the air horns I saved from the 940, they were getting knocked about in the back of the shed and are great fun.
