Sounds cool, how does your BGT behave on the track?
Incidentally, what happened to your numberplates?

well i fitted a special edition spoiler below the front bumper ad it meant my old number plate brackets were useless and there is no where to mount it where it would look any good imho, so i need to get one that sticks on the bonnet - just need to find somewhere that sells them any ideas?
The mg was much better than i expected, being a late model with higher suspension i expected body roll to an issue but it wasn't to bad at all. But because mines a late '78 model it benefited from a rear anti roll bar which probably helped things!
I fitted some Bridgestone tyres which were spot on, the weather was mixed but they stuck to the track very well.
Engine seemed sweet the oil pressue and temperature behaved itself.
Brakes were good enough although they started to squeal when they were hot so i will look at fitting some better pads? green stuff ones maybe?
A few changes are planned for it now as i think track days are going to become a regular thing!! will be lowering it to chrome bumper height in the next month or so.

A little lowering sounds nice, it'll look nicer at chrome-bumpered height as well! Don't be tempted to go the whole hog and stick chrome bumpers on it though, I think BGTs look nicer with later bumpers, roadsters are a different matter but the GT looks great with rubber bumpers! Funny you should mention the stick-on numberplates, I'm thinking about doing the same thing if/when the Imp's been painted because I'm not sure about the hanging down numberplates it's got on it, I'd like a period rally style stuck on job! Don't know of any companies that do them though, I was going to ask a mate I know who has a business making the sponsor stickers for rally cars, lettering for the sides of lorries, that sort of thing, but I wouldn't think he'd do them for anyone else, he says he doesn't do numberplates usually but he'll do them for me because he knows my dad! ;D ;D ;D ;D

stick-on numberplates were outlawed with the last change of numberplate law, i think it was when the 51-plates were introduced with the thinner lettering.
basically you can put a sticky numberplate somewher that isn't flat so it's useless for handheld radar guns (which need a flat area to reflect off, and so are almost always pointed at the front plate) and it's possibe an automatic numberplate recognition unit may be confused by a curved surface - what it comes down to is less chance of getting off speeding.
however, as with all kinds of dodgy plates, there are still people who will make them 'for show use' - either that or caravan supply places that still have old stocks of the blank plates and letters and are unaware of the law!

If the DVLA outlawed stick on plates when 51 came in dosent that mean pre 51 can still use stick on plates as DVLA rules tend not to effect cars built before the rule came in?

Really? I've seen Ariel Atoms, kit cars and various other things that were clearly built and registered after 2001 wearing sticky plates. I wonder if it's a law that's not very strongly regulated. Besides, I know of cars with perfectly legal plates that would confuse a radar trap because of the car they're stuck to. For example, the Volvo 940 has a slightly pointed nose, and the numberplate sits on the black part of the front bumper, which is also V-shaped slightly, take a look closely some time, it's true. Does this mean that they confuse radar traps? Especially seeing as I'm sure I've had those things pointed at me while I've been driving 9 series Volvos. Strange. Probably something to do with ridiculous DVLA regulations that are regulated differently depending on who stops you.
