2 door or 4 door, they're all great.

I'd have to go with a 2 door. It just looks like an Opel Ascona mated with a Pontiac GTO!

Top grammar tips! Bought = purchased. Brought = relocated Lose = misplace/opposite of win. Loose = your mum

To get a standard A40 this low, you'd have to dig a hole to put it in

penski: I dunno what they are but they are super-common on the HQ racers. Got the inside line from a mate: The ones in the pic are ROH Prostars, also known as Cheviot Prostars. They are no longer made but can probably be picked up from OzBay or the New Zealand site trademe.co.nz Oh, yeah, they are 14x7 or 14x8 in what I would suspect is generic Chevy 5-stud pattern.

They have been running a one make racing series for them since 1988. Tried to replace the HQs with newer cars on at least 2 occasions but it just keeps getting bigger. They run with very limited mods (sealed engines and 3 speed 'boxes) but its a real hoot to watch. www.hqracing.org/

Are the four doors based on the FE series Victor but with different front and rear sheetmetal? I've always wondered as they look incredibly similar.

Not sure if this link will work: www.carpoint.com.au/DesktopDefault.aspx?N=279%204294967244%204294965977%201426%2095&SearchAction=N&sid=11934E0D3EA7&Model=MONARO&Ns=pCar_HasImage_Int32|1||pCar_Price_Decimal|1&tabid=500442&Nne=15&Make=HOLDENIf not: carpoint.com.au -> Holden -> Monaro -> filter year to 1970-1979. Also try carsales.com.au, ebay.com.au and autotrader.com.au The remarkable inflation in the last few years in Australian muscle has people asking well upwards of AUD$30k for these in really nice condition or around AUD$15k for something reasonable, I suppose*. But then even something totally shagged won't be shagged like you'd expect from a UK perspective. It'll have "California car" problems, instead, so it'll be surprisingly solid but all the trim and rubbers will be perished. I recall about 5 years ago that LX Coupes, last of the line, very 80s style with all the kit and the smog-gear to go with it, were asking about AUD$15,000. I reckon they'd be asking closer to $25-30k, now. * Which isn't outside of what people ask for nice Euro convertibles from the same era: Good Fiat 124 Spyders are about $12-16k, guess as are older-retorations of MGBs (which are my default collector-car valu-ometer). And if you look a good 65-ish Mustang is probably the same coin, too.

Oh, I suppose that I should give a modern for price comparison purposes, too. A 2.0L Focus is about AUD$25-28k and a 2.3L Mondeo is AUD$32-36.
