If you're reading this in 2019 - Skip to page 3 Hey everyone! I learnt to ride a unicycle a couple of years ago and thought thats as far as I could take it. Then I typed unicycling into google! I started reading about mountain unicycling I bought a video and thought it looked great fun, I needed one! So, I got onto unicycle.com and bought all the parts I needed. I laced the wheel up and put it all together in an evening. Here is the finished product: Spec: Onza splined hub and cranks Halo Combat 24" rim 3.0" Nokian Gazzalodi Tyre Qu-ax 24" Ally frame, with Magura brake mounts Shadow conspiricy Seatpost Kris Holm Rail adapter Kris Holm Gel saddle Magura HS33 Brake The trials unicycle is the same frame, but the 20" version. I didn't want two unicycles the same colour, so I decided to paint it. Spec: Onza Hog rim 14 Guage spokes Onza Hub and 125mm Cranks Qu-ax Ally frame Koxx One Pink lady Saddle Pink fluffy rim tape! Here is a video of them in action! Enjoy! Edd

Great stuff, could yoy mod some suspension forks for the mountain bike one? Or would it stup you being able to actually ride the unicycle completely? It has been discussed at great length, but the trouble is that even with suspension forks, your feet are still on the pedals, which are on a fixed hub. So you would still feel the effects of the bumps though your legs.

it doesn't matter if it's a Morris Marina or a Toyota Celica - it's what you do with it that counts

I'm aware that this is major thread reserection but how much did the mountain kit cost ya? the prices seem bloody steep from what i can find..
ive been thinkin of modding one of mine for mountain stuff as the 20" i have is too small for me to ride normally... I'm more suited to the 24

Now a unicycle seems to me like a good way to slam your face into the ground. A unicycle with a hydraulic brake seems like a good way to slam your face into the ground very hard!
They do look impressive when going though - mad skills needed!

I cant seem to fall off..... well ya do fall off but just put ya feet down... theres no handlebar to fall over , so you just .. step away from the vehicccccllllee WOW, forgotten I had posted this. Retrowagens right, you can't really fall off. Unless you're going down a silly steep hill and you come off the front. Incidentally, I've just got back from the UK Street and Trials competition in Stockton on Tees. 4th in Trials and 4th in Street. We've made lots of videos since I posted this up. www.youtube.com/user/EddbmxdudeHeres some pics of the beasts in action: (Linked from Facebook, so not sure if everyone will be able to see them) 360 off the northshore: Tyregrab: Street! Trials: Oh and Retrowagen: Where are you looking? A top notch Muni (Mountain Unicycle) is dirt cheap in comparison to the biking equivalent. Top curse word spec machine will be about £500. Heres just about the best 24" money can buy. www.unicycle.uk.com/shop/shopdisplayproduct.asp?catalogid=1106All depends how much you are looking to spend. The Nimbus's (Unicycle.coms own range) are great value for money and are decent bits of kit. Give Unicycle.com a call if you're not sure. Roger is really knowledgeable and helpful. Just mention Edd Hawkes sent ya. www.unicycle.uk.com/Edd ;D

May I ask why on earth you'd ever need brakes on a uni?, even in trials I can't see when they'd ever be of use considering you can just stop pedalling to brake.

because you can hop with the brake i guess. standing still on one isnt as easy as it looks
