Bought last june to replace my tired caddy pickup.
Bargain £250 of ebay due to a blown headgasket, got it picked up and delivered and within hours found the blown headgasket was really a knackered thermostat so the modifying began before a could put it to daily use.
First of was the bargain lotus rims which were redrilled to the correct stud pattern , fitted with 175/50x14 and polished up .
Then flipped the rear axle and cut the front springs.
The interior was taken out and pressure washed to get rid of the
dog hairs, tobacco and rubbish left by the previous owner , ended up burning the seats and fitting some mk2 golf recaros I had in stock.
Was not the most comfortable with the cut springs so got some 2nd hand mk2 golf gaz coilovers from Strictly Dubs and had them rebuilt which went without problem till I fell down the stairs at Gaz. That made the van a lot more comfortable once my bruises had healed.
Apart from normal running it was as good as gold until an injector decided to remove itself , this was due to it being previously cross threaded and stuck back with jb weld type stuff by the previous owner ( same person has araldited the hoses onto the fuel filter).Only way out was to fit bite the bullet and fit a new head.
Next was the extended bonnet which some like and some don't
but its mine and I like it, and the sprinter wing vents.
