I'm not sure about the fab's its in crossgates they've still got a fully functioning wimpy in the shopping centre lol.
The handling isn't too bad it feels like its gonna let go but the more you boot it the better it gets.

Great work mate, the black rims on a red Italian car are always a winner IMO!!!!
Just need a good old fashioned hard slam ;D

Thought i'd update this thread. Broken bits: N/S CV Joint on its last legs Horn is busted again - press the horn and the fuel gauge moves and dash lights dim lol Engine is really tappety Oil leak from distributor Good bits: Gave it a full service Wiper motor has started working properly again Biggest update is the even newer wheels. Drunkenly bought the rears off ebay, and we've had the fronts for years. They're 13x8" ET-10 slotmags, and 13x5.5" Slotmags. The rears stick out just a bit lol. I've then started polishing the rear wheels. I first cut the rim edge back with a flap wheel to remove all marks, then used the flap wheel to flat the spoke area out. I then started with 240 grit and worked up to 1200 grit sandpaper slowly flatting all the marks out. My technology teacher taught me how to polish metal when I was about 14 after he told me this. "Polishing is a piece of curse word, just get all the scratches going in the same direction and when you work through the sandpaper grades it will come up perfect" This is the front and rear wheel together Dish comparison The bit I started polishing. Tyres will be 165/65 on the back and 155/65s on the front. I've also aquired another uno to use for spares so gonna make a modified back axle I think. Matt

Time for a supersize update and things aren't going well for the little Fiat. - The CV joint is just about hanging on, but now the O/S has started the death rattle too.
- The wiper motor is paggered. Will sweep one way across the screen but then gets stuck. Its not fun driving in the rain with the window open so I can stick my arm out and throw it back across
- The exhaust manifold has cracked completely around the downpipe manifold flange.
- 3rd gear is completely gone, which makes accelerating above 50mph a time consuming experience
- The engine feels down on power which might be due to the knackered exhaust.
Anyway the MOT runs out in Febuary, and as I couldn't find any in the scrapyards to nick bits from I bought this of Jonny69. Its pretty much everything I want from an Uno. Its a Mk1, but with the 999cc engine, its a 3 door, its black, its fairly tidy with no bad rust and the engine pulls like a train. Its also a 4 speed, and the gearing is much better than the 5 speed. Before I got the mk1 a few comedy goings on have happened with the wheels on the Mk2. I'm sure most people saw the Revos I tried on. Those are now reserved for another BL based project. I then received a nice bag of wheel nuts and studs from rally design. This allowed me to trial fit a pair of wheels to see how it sat. I'm so glad I drunkenly bought the wheels now. IMO the car doesn't even need dropping that much to look cool. A few days previous to trying the slotmags on I managed to get hold of a pair of 13x7 slotmags to try on the front. However they were Wolfrace and a different style to the Shelby ones on the back which I didnt like. However as luck would have I found a guy on ebay who was selling some Vauxhall pattern 5.5J slotmags. I didnt want them, but what interested me was that he was looking to swap them for some ford pattern 5.5J versions. I emailed him to say I had some, and ended up swapping the 5.5J slotmags with tyres for these. They're 13x7 American Racing slotmags with brand new 215/50 R13 Kumho tyres. They're the same style as the rears so should look awesome. I'm unsure whether to strip the paint of them and polish them like the rears, or paint the rears to match the fronts. Anyhow thats about it for now. Hopefully will be able to find some parts to fix the red one or its gonna end up getting weighed in. Matt
