This is my baby:- I built it about 4 years ago in my 'In-laws' garage...took me about 2 1/2 years to build. And for reference, this is what a bog stock one looks like:- BeforeAfterIt has Cortina front suspension, Capri LSD rear axle. Heavily modified Weller steels. Bodywork widened to suit wheels/track etc. Capri roof insert and sunroof. Capri loom, Capri steering column/ pedal box. No surprises for what car I used as a donor. I originally built it with a 2.0l pinto and Type 9 gearbox. Interior is Calibra Recaro front and rear seats. And original dash redone, original clocks have had the innards replaced with modern 'stuff'. Engine is now Rover V8 and Manual SD1 gearbox. Some say it's a hot rod, some say it's a 'retro ride' I don't really compartmentalise it. I just drive the absolute *poo* out of it and enjoy every minute of it. Loads more pics and stuff here:- usera.imagecave.com/Klunk/Rover/

Thanks.
My car background in case anyone is interested??
Morris Minor- Standard- Restored it when I was 14-17 years old. Several Minis- All quite heavily modified. Deseamed, frenched lights etc etc Renault Five GTX- Lowered, on 15's (when 15's were big....LOL) tinted windows, one off body kit (made by me) Induction kit, big stereo etc etc. Couple of Escorts, Mk 1 and Mk 11. Wish I'd kept them. VW Polo- Don't ask! Honda CRX Vtec - Wheels and induction mods, I miss that car, it went like stink and drove soooo nice. Toyota AE82 GT- Again mucho fun car, but rusty as sin! Honda Civic Coupe- Nice car, but not as nice as the CRX (blessed family outgrew the CRX) VW Polo- At least this time it was the Polo S (Still have this tucked away at my fathers place!) Merc C250- Daily driver at the mo. Chrysler Voyager- Wifes car known as 'Sperm bus' (again the family just kept growing!!!!! 3 kids now!!) And the Rover P3 obviously.
There were a few dubious choices in between the above, but these are best forgotten. *ahem*

Excellent looking car, liking that very much ;D I've seen a few of these modified/rodded over the years and they never quite done much for me, but that just looks so right.

Welcome aboard klunk. I've been a fan of your car since it was first built (when it had silver rims) - an absolute class ride. Hats off to you for attacking some UK tin. I know you don't want to compartametalise it, but as far as I'm concerned it's 100% Hot Rod. Pleased to have you on board.

My fave pic: Top machine! If this doesn't fit in the tight Hot Rod category, then its a mad world. Who cares, Its ace.

it doesn't matter if it's a Morris Marina or a Toyota Celica - it's what you do with it that counts

Hello Klunk, Not defecting from the NSRA forum are you? Or did you just fancy a break from the fighting over there?

That is awesome! Not often I'd say this but sacrificing a capri to create this was well worth it!
