Marinanut Jr will turn 16 this year and is itching to get behind the wheel of something....he was also seriously interested in what was at the R-R Angel Inn meet, so has been scrounging round fleabay for a while. Anyway, lack of £ doesn't help, but this appeared the other day, two miles away. It doesn't look like this now, as it was stripped for a Banham X21 project, but for the huge price of £3, Marinanut Jr now has a complete bodyshell, interior and bodykit..........we missed the wheels, but a set of steels should be available from a scrappy and the engine went for a stupid price. He has 16 months to turn this into something to be proud of....oh, and the insurance is less than £500 for a 17-yo with no NCB......

Sounds cool. You should get him over here, or over to my site Keep us updated. ;D EDIT: Just realised how cheap the insurance was, where/who did you get a quote from?

Had a first real good look at it today in 'dry' conditions; I was expecting a lot less, but basically what we have is a GTA complete apart from engine/gearbox, front grille, alloy wheels and a few other minor odds and sods - the main problem being its in kit form! Should be home by the weekend so more pics then.

I've got some 100+ cross spokes that I thought were metro wheels but they've got no tyres. Can have em for the scrap value (£20) if you pick em up or might be able to get em down to bristol or london.

Just post a needed post in for sale or general board. Last week my lady friend took some wheels up from Kent to Oxford for someone, and then they were picked up from her place to go elsewhere.
There are enough helpfull hands on this site.
I am sure someone will be happy to help, especially to get a young-un in a car.

Right, after dodging several HEAVY showers, and having to modify the R200 tow hitch somewhat, the GTA was dragged screaming from its last resting place and has come home, much to the chagrin of Mrs Marinanut who is NOT impressed............ Anywqay, a cursory look noted a rusted floorpan (nothing new there then) and definately two wings required, as well as an engine and wheels. It will get a better looking at this weekend, if it isn't p*ss*ng down....

I've just found a courier company that might be able to deliver the wheels. I could send 2 packages of 2 wheels taped together which would cost £14.

Not much has happened yet, due to a Morris Ital soaking up time....anyway, I have been asked if a 6R4 bodykit would fit a Rover Metro.....(just DON't ask.......)

Remember the wings are the same as turbo wings (because of the bodykit). I recently bought a brand new drivers side wing on eBay for about £30 but getting hold of a passenger side wing is very difficult.
Anyway, who insured him for £500? I pay £500 on my GTA and I'm 21!

I've got some genuine GTA alloys sitting in me shed you can have for free, the laquers dead on them so will need a refurb, but hey, free, genuine rims...
I'm in the Derby area, maybe some sort of RR road train effect would get them to ya?
