It smokes 'em for some distance! Sorry for the slightly outta-focus pic.  To say the least  - wheel stopped spinning when I nudged it into third, tyre marks fade just past that black lump further up the road.  (backed down again to get me camera ) |

Not done much in the past few days, busy with coursework. I'm heading back to uni on Saturday, hitting exam time but will be done come mid-May, fortunately. So, for this is where I am now : Centre console mocked up in wood. I'd knocked up the design, albeit briefly, in a CAD package we use at uni just to confirm that the dimensions did fit and there'd be no clashes. Printed off the template, slammed and routed some holes in it, voila...  I finished the metal fascia to match - trying chequerplate for a laugh - today, but haven't fitted it. That does have nice square edges, by the way. Headunit isn't the one I'll be using, got a better one now. I'll be boxing off it with matching interior cardboard to the bulkhead.  Worth noting that one of the gauges will be replaced with a Wideband AFR gauge at some point, to aid with fine tuning. One kill switch is for ignition system, so engine can be turned over without firing and the other is a fan over-ride. I already have an oil pressure/oil temperature gauge so it may be that full-face gauge that goes. Not sure, so many options! And I mucked about with these again, also fitting a new set of sunvisors whilst I was there (randomly).    Catch you in a few weeks! |

 "tryina catch me ridin' dirtaahhh". Won these on eBay, super bargainous, 14" and 6J - should be spot on! Always wanted a set, took some finding though. I almost ordered a full Megasquirt II V3 kit today but chickened out - I think I'm going to wait till I'm back, get the car running spot on with it's existing ECU, do the brakes and (about bloody time) finish the carpets/interior and then start working on the bodywork, before it gets worse. Then start the modifying in earnest |

   Yay Turned up a few weeks back but just haven't got around to looking at them (been working). The whole kaboodle has been literally cut from the car, so I've got lines, wiring, bottle, controller, switch, fuel T piece, solenoids, relays and fuses. Would otherwise be nightmarish to work out but fortunately I have the book  Everything seems in good order but have suffered (scratched) a little in transport, so will have to clean them up and replace the stickers. Unfortunately the transparent screen on the Maximiser has been scratched too but I reckon I can clean it out, or replace it without too much trouble Bonus though - got a brand new Maxflow valve included with the bottle, worth 85 quid on it's own - this has an SPV valve that bleeds excess pressure off, instead of blowing (which is what other safety valves do, then of course emptying the bottle of it's contents). Weighs nothing as well, it's great! After thinking about it a little I think I may work on tidying the boot up when I get home next week - paint it bodycolour, re-wire it so it's neat, fit a proper alloy battery tray, maybe get a new fuel pump and generally tidy around Got to make it a suitable home for the bottle! Anyway, more when I get back to it! |
