Hi, its with a heavy heart that I put my beloved 205 GTI up for sale. I'm just not using it enough anymore to justify keeping it and although I don't want to sell her, its better than letting her rot in the carport. I've had the car for 6 years and have taken good care of her in that time.
The car is a 1985 shell (very early) in good condition. She looks very presentable for a 23 year old hot hatch! She went straight through this years MOT with no issues at all raised.
I converted the car to Mi16 power in summer 2003, using an excellent 70,000 mile engine from a 405. The car is running proper Motronic Mi16 management, not the bodged 8v stuff. The Mi16 runs quite warm anyway, so I've had a twin fan set up fitted, which kicks in properly when in traffic or after a long run and cools the engine excellently.
The gearbox is the longer ratio'd 1.9 one, but I can supply an Mi16 box with the car if needed. The car has a full stainless exhaust system from the downpipe back, which is based on the Peugeot system and isn't loud or "chav" looking in appearence.
The car is lowered on uprated suspension all round. The springs at the front are chassis dynamics (AVO) and the shocks all round are good quality KYB gear.
She has uprated brakes too, with new pads on the front.
Inside, the interior has been replaced with a good condition one from a limited edition sorrento 205 (green carpet, cross checked half leather seats) and the dash is the later phase 2 type. Its all been done properly and there is no bodged bits, all electrics work. Electric windows have also been added.
Bad bits - Theres a little bit of bubbling on the rear quarter panel near the sills, but its only a tiny amount. Also the exhaust rubber is a little squeeky. Also, being a 1985 car, there are no rear seatbelts. I've been meaning to fit some, but never had the time.
The car is MOT'd to September 2008 and taxed to February 2008, so she's ready to roll. I've been driving her to work this week with no problems.
Break my heart for £2000.
