Thought some of you guy's would apreciate my mates latest purchase. It's a '79 Fox-bodied Mustang. MWF will probably recognise it, as it had been sitting on a garage forecourt quite local to him! It ooozes american cheese from every angle, right up my street! ;D The low stance owes a lot to my artistic talents, but don't worry, the angle grinder WILL be introduced to the springs shortly!

I like that a lot Nice colour too. Beware of those front springs though, you'll need a set of very heavy duty spring compressors to get them out. Is it a V8? Please say it is and not a gay 2.3 pinto.

Currently, it is the limp-wristed 2.3...... BUT, weve been led to beleive that a 2.8 cologne V6 will drop straight in with very little modding. He's off to the auctions next week to bag an old V6 Granada donor! ;D Not quite a V8 I know, but hell, 150bhp is nearly twice the power it's got now, so it's gotta be worth the 75quid or so for an old Granny!

The matt black bonnet bulge reminds me of the one on the Hillman Avenger Tiger.

A mate of mine had one that had been very badly fitted with a rover V8. It also had a pretty iffy aftermarket soft top too. IIRC the cologne engine in the granada is the same block as the V6 mustang so that should be a piece of cake to fit. I think mark (nightmares racing) would be the man to speak too about it though.

OK that freaked me out. I was just about to post it on my forum before I realised it was you Dick. Dawson has been eyeballing that thing for a while.
Is it a V6 with three port heads?

Chris...... just scroll back up and read my second post.... Got it for a fair bit less than the price that was in the window too! Like a third less! We've been pimping about in it all weekend, it certainly raises a few eyebrows let me tell you!

Cool! I like the bonnet (or should I be saying "hood"?!) with the matt black thing goin' on. Just needs slamming ;D I know someone with a Cossie Scorpio (ugly gimp-like faced one...), he may still have it for sale. That'd FLY!! ;D

Yes but does it have three port heads! Pinto engine dude..... As in 4 cylinders, not a 2.3 V6. Simalar configuration to a UK spec Pinto, but looking at it, something tells me uk pinto parts just wont fit. Bit of a gutter really. Totally gutless in the worst kinda way. Although he has squeezed nearly 200 miles out of 20quids worth of unleaded so far!

They were always a bit of a disapointment.
When they started aiming at performance again the 302 was stuffed in(hint hint)

As far as I know the only thing the US pinto shares with our one is the name.
