The clearout continues… (and I read the pic posting stuff) I also bought this in a moment of weakness and I'm not going to be able to fix this either with a full engine rebuild on the Dodge, Ford Taunus and Imp to restore, Alfa 155 to keep running and maybe a sharknose 323i on the way… Apart from the Mot and tax till end of Jan, there's not much good to say about it apart from the dashboard looks cool. The head gasket's gone, there's a bit of rot in the front chassis rails (though not terminal) and it's got knackered horrible seats from an astra or something. Did think I'd find a fuego Turbo lump for it and paint it matt black with orange gordini-style stripes over it and fit some black vinyl bucket seats but that's just not going to happen (unless no-one buys it, of course in which case I'll have a rethink) Offers into three figures please and most of that's for the tax! This one's in South London by the way

Ooooh! Ex-autoshite 'star car' and also featured on Telly if I'm not much mistaken If I hadn't just bought another car I'd be on this one like a beast.

Tis indeed the autoshite car. Bought on impulse cause my aunt had one (in Primrose yellow!) and I loved the seventies style. Was hoping my mate Del at Renospeed would be able to turn up an engine but he'd just dismantled the only suitable one he had to use the rods out of it on one of his R4s Still keeping an eye out for an engine and will grab one if one turns up anywhere but really just need to get rid... Problem is every time I look at it I start thinking I want to keep it

Cheers darkslider, but it won't fit - the 15 is like the 12 and the engine is in front of the box, and the R4 is the other way round so the pulleys and stuff are at the wrong end. Del managed to get an R5 Gordini turbo engine to fit in his 12 but not without a lot of grief and bits from an 18 IIRC. The 18/Fuego swap should be possible but you'd probably need the whole car or one in a breakers so you could get all the engine mounts etc. There must be someone breaking a 12 somewhere since no-one seems to want them, but I haven't managed to find one yet

Why do these cars always appear at the far end of the country? I've wanted an R15 or R17 for years but not been able to find 1.

Hi Seth Alive and well, just busy in the new job. stylish winter snotter was my plan but I've had a long hard look at the money/time/space situation and figured that it's stupid to be buying more when I've got a car as nice as the Dodge just sitting doing nothing. If no-one takes it and I can find an engine I'll flog the Alfa and trundle round in the Renault for a bit anyway. Might as well look at a cool dashboard when you're stuck in London traffic Sorry havefunSKOmad - if it ran I would probably bring it up to you just to go guitar-hunting in Music Ground in Doncaster - class shop and cheaper than London prices

It's not bad, but it's had a cheap respray and is starting to pickle up a bit, and the front wings are fibreglass. Presentable enough to use as a daily though. It's not that rotten, but there is a hole in one of the front chassis rails Can I tempt you sir?

The 21 turbo engine goes in the fuego so won't that go in the 15?
I've always contemplated a 15 or 17,but i'm far too hooked on j-tin now.

The 2.0 litre Norman Atmo lump's been put in one, so I can't see why the R21 turbo won't go. It's super rare, one of 8 on the road in UK, but it needs work and no-one seems to want them (thinks: maybe that's how they got that rare) Not sure I can be doing with the parade of bozos that is the mighty 'bay, so considering breaking it at the weekend but then if there's only 8 (or 7 when I'm done) on the road then who am I going to sell the spares to?

Its always the case with rare cars, we all admire and would like to have a go but no one is willing to take it on. Maybe try the owners club - www.renaultownersclub.com/ before unleashing it of an uncertain future.

Paul, Have you tried pimping it over on autoshite? I can't believe no-one wants it. It'd be horrible if you had to break it I have no space obviously but surely someone with a barn could take it in?

Paul, can you PM me how much you'd like for it. I'd really like a 16 but this is a good alternative. I'm a bit skint this month but if I can afford it I'll rescue it.
