Hi guy's sorry been away for a while(work schedule not conclusive with life)
Looking to thin down my fleet to one car (stop booing at the back)
Been looking at building a euro sled and keep being drawn to w126 merc a 300 or a 420.
If done right would this still class as retro?
Also any info on them mpg, pics of styled one's and is the 300 a v8, all info or opinions greatly recieved, how many miles before dead engine would be good as well.
May well end up on air as well if i go back to my uppy downy day's. ;D ;D

I don´t know the UK market, but over here the 500 and 560 are priced around the same as the 420, so why not go fore gold ? double antennas on the back with flags from some "banana republic", so low that it´s hardly usable and some wide golden 17" BBS rs´s with German style "stretch" on the rubber. tasty-retro-practical

Older Mercs were surprisingly unloved for quite a while and I'd imagine quite a few were either exported or bangered. Definate retro material though, ditto XJ40 Jags. The four litre (Jag) is the one to have as well according to some owners I've known and met over the years.

As for MPG, my 420SEL does mid to high 20s on petrol on a gentle run, and around 16mpg in winter on LPG... So not too bad by my standards!

Sorry about the typo Although a w115 coupe would make one a very happy man. Plan would be heavily hit with stick(possibly air bags), wires or super deep steels and a bit of ballroom glitz inside for the cruising comfort. Yes my lowrider past is coming back if i have to only own one car it's got to be cool. Any images you guy's can find would be greatly appreciated. ;D
