Just got back from a visit to my parents with the Missus, had a great few days eating and drinking and tinkering with my Dads new Citroen.
I have to say it kicks the of the Gaydon one, even though it was in the middle of nowhere and apart from my Dad and I there were about 3 other visitors. We could have spent all day in there and had to rush it a little so some of the stuff I cant tell you what it is.
The pictures don't show the half of what was there, I didn't take the main camera :-( so had to use Ruths phone, but its not too bad for a phone.
Started off with some real oldies.
Renault Alpines
Renault Alpina GTAs
Sexual Aston Martin and Bugatti racers.
Ford junk (only kidding)
Huge engines, these things were like 4/5 ft long. I was like :omg: I think some were Lemans engines some were marine engines, sadly there was no info on any of them.
Old group 4 stuff (drool)
Citroen BX Turbo jobbie (never seen the like of this before)
Model Cobra
Perhaps the most desirable (by me) car ever made, Bugatti
Americana (and Rollers)
Another hall of stuff, amazing collection.
Retro goodies (genuine 1960's Austin mini cooper)
My dad showing the scale of these shopping trollies, they are real, road legal cars!
Bigness and largeity!
There was a hall of about 20 or so F1 cars from the present day back to the early eighties.
Check out the dish on these babies!
Must... resist... temptation... to steal....... unnngh.
Craftsmanship to die for.
Hasta la Vista baby! (Renault quad cam twin turbo V8 robot killing machine (1400+hp??))
This is one of the turbos from the above engine without the filter, I was curious about what all that gumph on the compressor side is?
That's all I got from the F1 section.
Then I saw this, the first time I have seen such a thing first hand, the throttle bodies were 4" diameter, the belt was maybe 5" across and the blower was bigger than a redblock by far! I was stunned.
That's about all from the museum,
Having said that, French roads are a museum in themselves, I photoed this old pug 305 in immaculate condition and rust free (such cars have long since gone from the Uk roads)
My Dad just got this lovely 1955 citroen Traction Avant BL 11, in original (unrestored) condition, Inline 4 1900cc FWD, OHV, torsion arm suspension, runs like a dream, amazing car.
