Hopefully these are all related;
On a 1991 LHD S4 spider (discs all round)
1) when I press the brake pedal whilst driving, it sinks a bit further than it should, on an imidiate 2nd press this happens all the time.
2) the brakes are binding, I can sit on a bit of an incline & I think one of the rear brakes is binding.
3) when braking hard at speed, it pulls to the left.
now heres the thing. I assumed the sinking brake pedal was air, so I have fully bledd the system using a non-return valve bleeding kit. still got the problem 1. - so not air in the system
When bleeding the brakes, none of the pistons seemed to stick - so not a stuck caliper.
A few freind have suggested either;
a) faulty master cylinder
b) "Piston knock back" where the caliper piston is 'knocked back' into the caliper bore by the rotor as a result of loose wheel bearings - But the cars been into garage of late & had the whole rear end, prop & g/box under scrutany.
What does peps think ?
