Ok, have to put the pug back together a bit sharpish as I'm on the move workwise and will only be at home weekends thus cutting down the amount of time I'll have for "tinkering"!! On top of everything else I need to fit the poly bushes I've bought for the front wishbones. Rather foolishly got a garage to remove the old ones but thought the new ones would be easy to fit!!!! They ain't!! Anyone got any tips??

Just wind the nut in and it'll pull it in, maybe a bit of washing up liquid for lube. Matt

I used a clamp and an old socket to push a new bush in my triumph suspension

To get a standard A40 this low, you'd have to dig a hole to put it in

White grease rather than washing up liquid as it won't speed up the corrosion of the metal

Good thing is once you make the tool i've shown you can use it again and again.

Big socket into little socket with a bench vice worked for me with all but the toughest ones. For that I had to construct a fabled device that is known only as "The Machine". Basically, I made a cone shape by curling a flat piece of metal and attached diminishing sizes of hose clamps down this to ensure it didnt give - then its the old "loads of lube and plenty of thrusting" technique. Oh! Suit you sir!

I found a vice was the only thing that made this from anightmare job to a bearable job. It's horrible.
