???well I found a old metro the other week
I am very keen on them its a old austin one which has a gearbox probelem still drives but not very well
its done 25k miles and is very clean no dents e.c.t or rust just a small bit in one corner of the arch
the interiour is mint like new
I'm a mechanic so the gearbox is not a problem plus I emagine I would put a turbo engine in it anyway
just wondered if its worth 100 quid??
I'm my opinion it is as its so clean and tidy and I rekon after a good clean it would polish up lovly
should I buy it?
I already have 2 mk1 jettas and a mk1 caddy as my daily

£100 for anything with decent body and interior is a bonus 'cos thats what costs a lot of money to sort out. Hava look at Slater's Metro in Reader's Rides.

Definately buy it. Sounds similar to mine with 25k miles and a gearbox problem (crunchy 2nd gear syncro). There good cars and are fun to drive. Here's mine.

you could always sell me one of your mk1 jettas then you would have the space for the metro.

yehhh
just shame about the corner of the bumper and one of the wheel trims
forgot to mention it is auto unfirtunatly but there is a manual one in the scrapyard near me with all the pedal box and gearbox e.c.t mite nab that nd convert it to manual
aswell as a vanden plas model in the scrappy which has lots of chrome goodies which i shall nick nd fit to this one
anyone converted a auto to a manual before is it easy or am i better of getting a complete engine
my m8 has a rover which he rolled its got a 1.4 16v engine in it its on a s plate
would that engine fit??

Think if you are going to go a-series its easier to get the complete engine and gearbox, but someone more knowledgable than me will be able to confirm that.
Not seen a k-series in an early metro before, might not be as straightforward as it seems?
