Hi guy's and gal's need to pick your brains. Just finished re wire on a 3.s v6 100e, ran lovely on new carb and all new line's straight off so was well happy. Ran it up for a bit then took it down the road, seriously quick. Problem is now that it will only start on a certain point on the choke and as soon as you touch the throttle it die's. Has anyone got any suggestions before i start throwing money at it aimlessly.

You've got a big air leak somewhere. Check you've not got a hose loose or split. Alternatively, with the engine running spray WD40 around the inlet area. When you hear the engine note change you've found your leak. Be warned, though, that WD40 is flammable, though not volatile like petrol. So be careful near the exhaust manifolds.

I will give this a try, initial thoughts had been faulty coil or dizzy but air leak does sound quite possible. Cheers for the suggestion.

what carb? air leaks is highly likely, but maybe a bit of crud in a jet? had big probs with my holley on my 3.1. destroyed the power valve and split the o-rings on the extended metering jets (weber conversion plates). that made it run like poo!
