basically, the situation is this.
my w115 has a towbar- the only one ive ever seen with one. I don't know if its factory/dealer fit or just aftermarket, but it runs right down to the diff crossmember in front of the tank to spread the load well. it also mounts to the rear crossmember behind the valance, just inside the boot. this means it also rather conveniently protects the tank on super slammed cars- mine has the scars to prove it!!
without it I'm pretty sure id have holed my tank.
they're also rather good for jacking the car up on when its too low to get to the jacking points
ive now had 3 people try to buy it off me, so I was considering doing a small production run of half a dozen or so if the demand is there.
it uses a standard bolt on tow ball and electrics.
rough guesstimate of pricing would be £75.
id proably clean up the design a bit though so it doesnt have the extra plates and tubes.
and, you can see the front triangulation bars in this pic-
in fact I jacked up on them just after I took it!! (they're thickwall 1-3/4" ish daimeter steel tube).
if youre interested, let me know here or PM me.
