anyone see Dave Gorman "America Unchained" roadtrip he made across the States, attempting to travel from coast to coast without giving any money to chain businesses and instead trying to only deal with small, independent Mom & Pops. Including gas stations.

Watched as well and loved it, he's a brave man to attempt a trip like that with no technical skill what so ever, those "Ma & Pa" petrol stations and Motels are great, very sad that they'll all disappear

oh well, cant affrod to run one what mileage would it have to do? I daily drove a full size mid 60s Oldsmobile with a 7 litre big block including going to Derby every day in it for a while. My regular commute is like 5 miles each way. Its easily do-able. A small block Torino (which is a mid size) should do nearly 20 MPG, maybe more with an overdrive trans if you fitted on, and then theres always LPG as an option too.... You could get the equivalent of 40 MPG that way. Parts are cheap, the only PITA is having to wait for them to come in from the US of A if they are not in stock.
