hi, i've been selling this Volvo on Gumtree for the last couple of days www.gumtree.com/london/66/18843966.html and i notice this appear today www.gumtree.com/london/33/18926033.html Something which is worrying me a little is i have just sold the car but accidentally left the logbook behind, so relying on him to fill it out. thinking about the guy he seems alright though so i don't think he has anything to do with it. what is odd is the number given on that ad called my mobile yesterday morning but hung up before i answered. i've tried ringing it from my landline but it's on answer phone. basically what the fick can he be getting out of advertising a car he hasen't got, and then including completely incorrect info that no vovlo can have.

SCAM. Leave a message and some Nigerian king will probably call you back and offer to send you a bankers draft for more than the value of the car etc...

I asked rhe question about being conned by people with phone numbers that did more than put you through. Have it checked, maybe more than meets the eye. hi, i've been selling this Volvo on Gumtree for the last couple of days www.gumtree.com/london/66/18843966.html and I notice this appear today www.gumtree.com/london/33/18926033.html Something which is worrying me a little is I have just sold the car but accidentally left the logbook behind, so relying on him to fill it out. thinking about the guy he seems alright though so I don't think he has anything to do with it. what is odd is the number given on that ad called my mobile yesterday morning but hung up before I answered. i've tried ringing it from my landline but it's on answer phone. basically what the fick can he be getting out of advertising a car he hasen't got, and then including completely incorrect info that no vovlo can have.

SCAM. Leave a message and some Nigerian king will probably call you back and offer to send you a bankers draft for more than the value of the car etc... But what does he actually GET? does he expect people to wire over the money before seeing the car? Actually that makes some sense I asked rhe question about being conned by people with phone numbers that did more than put you through. Have it checked, maybe more than meets the eye. so you mean by phoning his number it might go through to some high tariff con-line or something? w@nkers.

Some people here say it cannot be done, but there are loads of these too good to be true ads on Gumtree, and when you call, there is loads of answers, but not anyone to speak to, so I suspect it is a way to fleece one.... no idea how though. Just be aware, and awake. SCAM. Leave a message and some Nigerian king will probably call you back and offer to send you a bankers draft for more than the value of the car etc... i'd be inclined to write to dvla and let them know its not yours, and if possible include the new owners address. and then forget it. he aint scamming you like

Write a full and frank letter to the DVLA, tell them you forgot to do the logbook properly (remember this is an offence, but it's probably better to be upfront about it). Give the new owners address if you can but state clearly that the car is no longer yours and you wish it to be de-registered from your name.
Failing that, apply for a new logbook and then declare it scrapped which should prove interesting every time the new owner goes through an ANPR camera!
