typo in the article too, revokes, surely evokes, though blatantly rips off would be more accurate. *Cough* plagiarism *cough* *n

Top grammar tips! Bought = purchased. Brought = relocated Lose = misplace/opposite of win. Loose = your mum

Forgive me if I'm wrong, but isn't that a Tatra that's been modified rather than a claim to a new car?

I'd rather see plagiarism than some of the curse word that's been retroed out there lately . The Beetle is just horrible, what, they couldn't afford to make VW scallops on the hood, where's the chrome? why bother? Unless its just to make it ugly. Ford T bird looks like one of the originals melted and lost all its chrome. The new Camaro and Charger look grotesquely swollen and stubby. ( sorry for the references, I'm a Yank). They redo a car yet feel they need to change things for change sake, lose the chrome, the fins, whatever makes us like the car in the first place. Nissan did a great job with their retro cars, but retro soft sucks. I think it would be much cooler just to stick an old body on a modern chassis. I'd love an R4-bodied new car. ( not that we'd get it over here) Anyway, I like this Nouveau Tatra, its just looks like a Tatra would if they were still making them. I like the original Tatra too. I do hate the retro grill though. And where are the chrome bumpers? Jack (don't post much, love the site)

I can appreciate all the work that's went into it and it's an interesting idea, but I'd have an original too, probably will some day when I can afford it and don't have any other projects on the go, I do like the idea of incorporating modern features, but in my case I'd like to put a modern engine in there (not sure what, it'd have to be a V8 and in the back, but short of finding a very late model Tatra car engine from the T613-4 or T700 (although if I found either of those in good condition I'd buy those too, I like later Tatras almost as much. ) that were made just before they stopped car production in the late '90s sadly, it'd have to be something water-cooled, with the appropriate hidden pipework to a front mounted radiator (Hillman Imps with a little inline four barely just get away with a rear mounted radiator once you start modding, what chance does a messed about modern V8 have squeezed into the back of a Tatra?), but you could always just make a cover up for those to hide them running through the cabin space, insulate the cabin from the heat of them, and stop anyone getting their legs burnt, and while you're at work on the interior, again I like the idea of getting a good quality, subtly disguised sound system on the go for long journey, good comfy retrimmed Volvo seats or similar, complete with power adjustment and seat heaters for some most un-comradely decadance in a Soviet car, good modern heater/air con, again subtly disguised, all that sort of thing, and of course a suitable transmission, and brake and suspension mods to keep it all safe and useable at speed. Paint it all black, red leather interior, good wide, black chrome steelies with the original chrome hubcaps adapted to fit, and with well shone up or whitewall tyres, chrome all shone up, subtly lowered. KGB sleeper look. ;D All just a pipe dream obviously, but I do hope to put this sort of thing into practice some day. And yes I agree that the new Beetle should be punishable by death for whoever came up with that and whoever approved it, and the new Camaro etc are strangely unconvincing. And I'm still not 100 per cent sure about the new Mustang, I'd just mod an old one, it'd probably be cheaper and end up being better fun. And I still don't like the new Mini, apparently a good car in its own right, but I'd have preferred if they had made a proper peoples car successor to the original Mini, which people like Daihatusu have been doing for years to good effect and that would probably sell anyway if it was priced like a Sirion but badged as a Mini or BMW, or else made the fashionable expensive city car they were going to make and made it a non retro BMW. Although can't really blame them I suppose, their way probably makes more sense commercially, and that's what matters if you're a car maker.

I'd have that one out of Lemony Snicket that Timothy Spall drove. Yum.

I like the shape and surround of the grille but I don't like the crumpet effect of the grille itself. Surely they could have come up with something nicer there. Otherwise who cares if it's a copy? It looks good and that's all that matters.
