I’ve a car that I want to register sorn but have hunted high and low for the v5 keepers document but can’t find it. Is there any way I can do this without the document. Car is taxed on a dd so have not been sent the v11 tax reminder.

If you do not have a log book Fill in and send an application for a log book (V62) and V890 form to DVLA - a new log book costs £25. You can get a duplicate log book (V5C) if your original one is lost, stolen, damaged or destroyed.

Thanks for the reply. Yes I did read that on the gov website but I sent dvla a twitter message for help.
I don’t really do social media, only joined twitter to contact a family member, but have used it on occasion to message companies or authorities if need be. It can be a nasty place but I must say every time I’ve needed to contact a service or company twitter has possibly been the best way in my experience for getting a quick and helpful response.
In this case I was contacted and told that as I am already the registered keeper that has a v5c already issued in my name I only needed to print off the form in the link they sent me for the v890 form and send that off, which I have now done. So no need to apply for the new log book just yet so can keep hunting for it while it is off the road.
