Hey guys!
I replaced the tired ED10 engine in my Domino with an ED20 out of a much newer Mira. For those not familiar with Daihatsu nonsense the ED20 is pretty much identical but the EFI version of the 846cc 3 pot the car originally came with.
I converted it back into an ED10 by removing all the EFI stuff and sticking the carby manifold/mechanical fuel pump etc, back on it. Simple enough.
Ran reasonably well, but seemed to struggle a little higher in the rev range, as if the timing wasn't advancing properly. Sure enough, on closer inspection the vacuum lines were old as the hills and either split or collapsing on themselves.
So I replaced them all, exactly as they were before, with nice new hose. Now the car runs far better up the rev range, and definitely accelerates better than it did prior, but it now doesn't idle. Idles at like 400rpm, which is obviously way too low.
With no available workshop manual or such like, anyone has a vac diagram for an ED10? (Who knows, maybe pigs are flying today)
I'm unsure if the vac hoses were routed wrong to start with, and it didn't show because they weren't actually doing anything, or if they are in the right place and them actually being functional now has highlighted an issue elsewhere...
