As I work my way through the restoration of my fiat 850t I came across this repair panel
It has a strange flaky coating on it that I couldn't quite place
And then it hit me, it's a paint usually called appliance white or machine enamel.
So why would you use a paint like this to undercoat a vehicle?
You don't, someone has used the side of a washing machine or fridge freezer for steel supplies.
I did it myself on my first car, also my first restoration, a thirteen year old Austin allegro.
It's a pig to use as back then it was too thick and you spent ages grinding the finish off.
In fact I used so much of it by the time the car hit the road the thing had four forward gears and a fast spin cycle.
