First off, an apology as this isn’t specifically regarding a retro.
A friend had a lorry reverse into the front of her car. The repair was going ahead but came to a halt as a new headlight could not be sourced for several months. As the replacement car loaned to her was a £90k Range Rover I said they will end up writing the car off due to car hire cost. A few days after I said that the car was written off.
Now, the thing is the insurance company won’t give her market value as the car has a previous cat s marker on it, so have told her they will give her 20% less than the cars value.
When she purchased the car she was not told about the cat s that was on the car. It was not a private sale but I don’t know if it was a company or sole trader that she bought it from, but I was under the impression that it had to be declared at point of sale and the seller could be held liable for not disclosing the information.
Hope this post is ok as I thought it might help anyone that finds themselves in a similar situation if we get people with knowledge on the subject posting advice. Otherwise admin feel free to delete if this is not deemed suitable for the forum. Thanks.
