Hey folks, I've been enjoying these threads, a handy place to share smaller bits and pieces that get found during the week. With Ultimate Stance and SEMA now done, it looks like we're heading in to the end of show season. NEC Classic thing this weekend seems to be the last big event of the season. Is anyone from here going? Last weeks thread: forum.retro-rides.org/thread/223383/chat-thread-series-wc-2022

Let's kick things off with another Stance Nation Japan video, as there is some interesting stuff floating around in it

I miss SEMA, been 4 years since I went and its left a hole I can't fill!
I'll be at the NEC this weekend. Setup Thursday night and then Saturday and Sunday too. Its a good show, but can get a bit samey year on year. I miss the days when they had MPH and Top Gear Live in the adjacent hall.

A mate of mine was at SEMA, I'll see if he minds me posting some of his photos on here at some point.
No NEC Classic for me I don't think, looking forward to seeing pics though. The big shows might be over, but I've been really enjoying going to smaller local meetings in the area, there's enough to fill every sunday morning throughout the winter I think! If it's not one of the Cars and Coffee meets somewhere there are local classic car clubs and things like that organising pub car park mornings. I went to one on Sunday, about thirty cars or so, great to get to meet local enthusiasts and I learned of a few little specialist places not far away that I'd never know about otherwise! Well worth it. I'll post some pics in a bit.

Been away this week for a break in Nottingham, on the way there we went to the Great British Car Journey / drivedadscar.com place. The museum has a range of British cars from Austin 7 and Morris Minor to Mondeo and Rover 75 with a few more special cars like a Delorean, McLaren 650 and a few racing cars, and you get a headset and handheld touchscreen as a guide around the cars. Hubnut and probably a few others have done videos on the drivedadscar.com part, you can hire a car to test drive around the grounds.

That place is on my list, I saw the IDriveAClassic girl on Instagram (I forget her name) went and it looked quite interesting. I love a good museum!

Museums are a great way to get an old car fix in the winter. (any old machine really in my case).
We went to the Great British car journey last winter, good museum but wrap up warm it was freezing in the exhibition hall, Cafe was fine though.

We had a trip down that way for our Anniversary this year and popped in. Throughly enjoyed it great selection of stuff. My favourite was the Orange Austin 1300GT

I'm hoping to get to watch some rallying over the winter. Don't really get to many car shows at all as I tend to get bored quickly, and after building 9 championship winning race engines for various motorsports I'll be running round like a blue arsed fly at work so will be nice to go see some stuff racing where I don't have to help out lol.

That sounds ace - is there much of this up here or do you have to travel?

There's the Cadwell stages on 20th November that's usually slippy so good to watch, then the Winter Stages at Croft on the 27th that are similar.

They've not done the Winter stages for a couple of years so the entry is looking pretty good.

Does the show season really stop anymore? Certainly here there's Interclassica in a couple of weekends, The Essen Motor Show the week after, Keverwinterfestijn a few weeks after that, Bremen Classics at the start of February, The Freddy Files early to mid March and then it's only a few weeks to the 'Season Opener' that is Techno Classica!

I quite fancy it but I can't work out how much time/distance you get behind the wheel or the pricing structure on their website!

In the FAQ it says about 20 minutes driving, prices are £49, £65 or £75 for classic, premium or luxury level cars. drivedadscar.com/frequently-asked-questions/drivedadscar.com/buy-drives/Hubnut video

I think that might my favourite Saunders car yet, love that style of car. I keep looking at this silliness as there's one for sale for not much and not far away, and I've got a turbo MX5 engine that I think would bolt in, but ive also got little spare time and 3 projects already. http://instagram.com/p/CgJqw0rJLkV
