As much as I admire kgf's constant ability to find low mileage and/or very special cars, that price.....

Not gonna deny it. If I had the cash I'd be driving that out of KGF's showroom and straight to the boat for a European road trip. Poor car deserves to be used.

I heard they paid £20k for it from Albert. Good profit.

Surely it would have taken more than £20k to tempt Albert into selling.

This is the sort of car that will go to a serious car collector. I would imagine that there are some very wealthy guys out there who buy the best low mileage examples known to man, simply to look at. That won't be driven at all, sadly.
Cars are for driving.

After paying £71k for it I would not drive it. Will be with nothing with some miles on it. You just gotta keep it as it is. You can always rest assured that if you did drive it they would give you £20k for it again.

I really think I would have preferred to have spent the last 31 years driving it and enjoying it . . . . .especially if I'd only got £20k for it now - though I find it hard to believe that he parted with it for that.

I get that businesses exist to make money, but if a company paid someone £20k for an item knowing they'd slap a £70k+ resale price on the item they bought (and they clearly would know the projected resale value they had in mind), that company should feel thoroughly ashamed of themselves.
I'm sure others will argue its business etc, he was happy with what he got and hey, all good for s***s and giggles but I prefer a clear conscience to a huge bank balance.

I struggle with the idea of buying a new car and then never using it. All I want to do with a new car is drive it at any opportunity to do so. To spend even a large chunk of cash on a car that wasn't particularly uncommon or even sought after at the time to then tuck it away and not drive it fries my tiny mind.
I do hope the 20k thing is just internet rumours and not how they really do business.

I used to deal with the brother of the guy that owns KGF, he would go around main dealers and buy the cheap px cars off them and then do minor work and sell for a few k more. The guy would often turn up in ONE of his fleet of exotic Italian cars, with the cash for his deals in an envelope inside a batterd old brief case
The family have money and used to run a very successful restaurant and a theatre 🎭 along with a few other not so legit businesses

Its 2 grand shy of the record at auction for a capri, but that was a rather more rare and special prototype rs3100.

I have absolutely no problem with them earning a profit I’ve lost count of how many digs I’ve had for buying a selling retro stuff, if I buy something spend my time doing bits and valeting the hell out of a car and then advertising it for more that’s my choice and quite often my good fortune, other times I don’t make a penny Agreed it seems a bit steep but good luck to them They have to pay wages and no doubt business rates rent etc

Funnily enough it’s NOT a one off , I know a guy in Mansfield (near to me) who has one in black & was ordered like that,NOT a paint job. He owns an insurance company, it was built as what was termed as a ‘press decoy car’ whatever that means

I heard they paid £20k for it from Albert. Good profit. Doesn’t make it so, just hear say maybe & then a load of ‘bashing’ starts. Have any of you ever dealt with them? I have, I bought a mk1 Escort camper off them. Great to deal with, he was happy to take a reasonable bid & did everything he said he would.

They have to pay wages and no doubt business rates rent etc Those ceiling lights as reflected in the windows appear to be brighter than a home-grown-weed setup** - they cost a lot to run too. **I googled home grown weed setup, on a vpn, from haiti, or was I?
