I don't know much about them, always liked them. Seems to basically be a Honda Accord 90-93 model underneath

Seems to be based on a Honda CB platform which is the older accord / but the Ascot Innova (CB3/4) (Euro accord 93-98 shape we know) is also based on the CB not the CD platform (which looked similar!). Never heard of the Ascot & didnt know Eurpoe had a different version of the Accord either lol. So that a new useless bit of information that is stuck in my head & I will continue to not know what day it is

I'd love to see one given the btcc look, they've got a great shape and don't need much to look really smart. I've driven afew and they're ok, but I remember one being a really nice car, like it was just put together better. Some came with recaros, probably just the turbos.Lots of potential.

These were good cars. If all the FWD cars Rover had built had been to this standard they would still be rehashing Hondas to this day....
I nearly bought one a while ago. Insurance wouldn't take it as a classic car though so I didn't

I have a 620Ti which I used for a couple of years. Damn good car, very quick for its time but looked your grandad should be driving it. Lovely inside too. I've still got it but having not been used for at least ten years in needs significant recommisioning. Unfortunately not at the top of the to do list but it is number three behind the HiLux V8 conversion and the classic Range Rover resto.

From memory I think there are 4 engine options Honda 618, 620 auto, 623 GSI and Rover 620Ti turbo, they are good cars but like any car if you buy one with high mileage and signs of rust you are always going to be working on it. My choices would be 623GSI for luxury with no oil leaks or 620Ti for performance and oil leaks.

I haven't seen one of these for years. I always thought they were alright really, nice proportions and improved massively just with a little drop and some nice rims. Rare enough now to really stand out and they've pretty much shed the reputation/image problem Rovers of later years suffered from.
I'd happily have a 620ti.

I remember seeing one on the net a while back that had been given the full on Subaru rally car livery and in Subaru rally blue colour with gold painted standard alloys. Think they might even have put Subaru badges on it. Why I do not know, but I agree a super touring look would suit one I can imagine. Something like this, maybe in the MG x power touring car livery that they ran the MG ZS back in the day

The editor of a magazine I used to work for had a brand new P-reg 620GSi (must have been 1995/6). He drove me in it on a long motorway journey to an exhibition, and I remember it being very smooth and quiet.

Drove a diesel one a few times in the mid 90s as it was the company pool car. Did several long runs in it. Went well and was very civilised. Went a long way on a tank of fuel too.
