Not knocking threads on here but am I the only one that wants to see and talk about cars??…..well that’s why I’m here, so cars I like but don’t currently own The Rover R8, just coming out of the banger stage now? Great little cars and the sei model was the one and only car I’ve ever bought knew back in 95 We had a this nice sli a few years back and I really think at some point In the new year I’d like to buy another Anyone else got anything tempting in there mind?

I'm currently talking myself into getting a mk1 Audi TT, as they surely can't get any cheaper. As my budget is really at the lower end of what a semi decent one goes for and knowing that they always need money throwing at them, I've narrowed my search to a non- quattro, 180/190 as that takes away a number of expensive issues. I know many will say you need a quattro in at least 225 flavour, but outright speed and performance is not high on my agenda. As soon as our 2cv project progresses a bit further I'm on the hunt

Base model Sierra 1.6L 3 door. Dad had several when we were growing up, but this one was always there until he fell ill and sold it. He had an Rs500 as well but this had the memories, 2.0 pinto and 5 speed swap, off the clocks chasing my mums old Sapphire Cosworth as he'd sold it and given the fairly dodgy looking chap our house keys with it I will get one one day.

There are not many cars that I really don't like. I like some more than others but I think I like them all. I am restoring my 2cv6. The body is at the panel beaters and I am waiting for some parts. So, it has stalled a little. I prefer "normal" cars. Of course I like a Ferrari but a normal 70's and 80's car that your and mine mum and dad had excites me more. This car is one of these cars. I don't own it. I have only sat in it as a kid but I always thought they were awesome. I have to lead you in to a little secret....I am going to have a look at 1 next week....

I've had a bit of a hankering for one of these... A U.S. spec Ford Ranger step side super cap pick up. Or, if I could just get the stepside bit then I'd pop it on the back of the wife's Ranger

I’ve looked at these on and off for 10+ years, and now yet another family member has come down with cancer and won’t be here come February, so I think it’s time to buy what I’ve wanted for along time.

Have been looking for a 90s stepside pickup (ideally V8) for quite some time...

Good thread! The following are just a few of the cars that are for sale and I am 'following' here and there in't the internet car sales world. Alfa 75 V6. You cannot be a petrol head and not ever have owned an Alfa, so the saying goes. I am also watching a twin spark, not as quick but better balanced. I like the 75's, a bit awkward in design but that suits me, it's different. 1970 LHD Audi 100 LS. The interior is wonderful in my eyes, a bit spartan but comfortable, hewn from granite. Probably the right age for me too, old yet will easily mix it with modern traffic. Love the shape too. Not something I would automatically go for TBH but this looks well done. The lines are clean, sharp and it looks stylish, cool, just right. I can see myself driving it around. Practical too. Don't really need to say much about this. This is when we made great cars IMHO. Legendary engine, styled with panache, an interior you just want to be sitting in all day and the colour is bang on for me. Yeah, there may be hidden horrors but I've already calculated the costs of putting stuff right in to my budget. Always wanted a 60's Jag saloon! A Porsche that is a dealer PX. What could possibly go wrong? I like the shape of the 944, particularly the later ones and this is on my list because it is calling out to me 'buy me!!!! I probably won't.... Dan's fave Ford, the MK3.... This looks like an honest example and estates are rarer than the saloons. I like MK3s but not so much the estates, however this one could be a good buy, maybe. I have a shed load more, couple of SN95 Stangs, a Pontiac Lemans, even a Saab Turbo convertible, etc. I suppose I am just waiting for the car to come along and me say THATS IT!! Everything I am watching I like and could happily own but, maybe, the right one for me isn't on that list? All part of the fun, right?

So many, and for almost as many reasons. I can appreciate and admire anything which isn't bland or unreliable, even though I may not desire one myself. That's why this forum beats most others; the opportunity to read what fires other enthusiasts, and what they are up to.

As there’s a couple I didn’t add at the start of the thread I’ll just drop another one here, alas I think I missed the boat now on these, I have owned some nice cortina mk2s over the years and I would like another tidy one , But for now it’s out of reach and Ford prices are crazy at the present time

To many cars I like to list them all, much like everyone else I think. Here are a few of my choices. When I was young my uncle used a twin slider bay window for a milk round, and a beetle as his daily. Both of these had a profound effect on me as they were nothing like the Fords and Vauxhalls that my dad had. I've had a bay, a type 4 411 and an a/c T25. These first two I've never had, and more than likely never will. I've never had anything American. First choice is simply because of how cool of a cruiser it would be. Next choice is simply due to the Dukes of Hazard and The A Team. I like old busses, haha, I said it. And finally, I'd have one of these in a heartbeat. 😃

+1 for the Audi TT, I’ll add the A2, and most Audis from that time before they got fixated with grilles and edges. I’ll even go as far as liking the A2 Colour Storm models, red yellow or blue with the black trims . Something different from the black/grey/silver/white masses.

Great thread!! Theres a lot of Cars I like and probably will never get to own. I'm one of those guys that gets really attached to Cars and ends up keeping them for ages. My original plan over the last few years was to keep my mk3 Escort and use the cash i'd saved for a daily to by another classic for a bit. Started with a Capri with the idea i'd sell it after about 6 months, in Feb I will have owned the Capri 4 years where did the time go!!!? I must say I've got pretty sucked into fixing the Capri and starting to really enjoy that now BUT! I'm moving in two months about 150 miles away so... Maybe I'll have to get a daily or more useful classic so heres the list... MG Midget 1500... My Dad has a Spitfire and this would just be a fun smaller version of that I think. I would like a Spitfire of my own too and try and tune it or make it more fun. This was on the original list of Cars to buy and move one but obviously I stopped at the Capri Always one I wanted to own but in Red. Had toy cars of this when I was a kid. Probably a cheaper older version of this would be nice. I keep thinking I could sell my Capri and one of these and my misses would actually drive it! (she hates my Cars) Not retro at all but probably what I would by as my Dad has one and Its really quick!! Would be great to own so I can appreciate my Classics for what they are plus I wish my 2.0 Capri would pull like one of these. This is something I'd love especially in the BT livery. don't know where the want for this came from but seeing this van in particular made me want one. This van was for sale last year but I think the guy wanted £5k+ for it. If it was at a price where I could have bought it and sold the Capri for the same, I would have done it.

I used to be the biggest critic of these things... But they can be had for buttons (which is my favourite price bracket) and respond v v well to the tried-and-tested lowering stick & rims treatment. Yeah, they're thirsty, slow, wallowy, hard to work on and cheap on the inside...but I think I like them 😂

My first work van, when I joined British Telecom in 1989, was a 1984 Ital identical to that but with 'normal' wheels. Honestly? They are bloody awful to drive but don't let that put ya off!! It got replaced by a H reg Maestro van in 1990. I was like stepping out of something built in the 1950's and straight into a slick, modern machine. Good times.

The Mk1 & 2 Granada, really started to notice them as a teenager as regular choice of the oval racing guys. Reverse rake and in V6 flavour take some beating. Been fortunate to own regular, hearse and limousine variants.
Also quite partial to the Rover P5 and the big Farinas(Westy and 6/110)for similar reasons, but even my "modern" daily choice tends to consist on the large luxury barges(Volvo/Audi) so my tastes were shaped by watching the banger scene.
