Yup, the year is virtually finished with probably just a modest improvement over 2019 with the commencement of a few shows, pub meets etc. For me it was crazy busy trying to make a 1825 cottage livable although it's far far from complete! Because of this, the toys really took a back seat with my ol 92 Chevy having virtually nothing done to the poor thing this year. I keep promising myself that come summer, most of the big housy jobs will be done and should result in a few spare hours being spent spannering again-hopefully! Here's the old girl & don't be fooled, it had a sprinkle of scottish water making it shine a bit

This. Thanks to a lot of input, advice and help from many. And a few other jobs. Including The S10 truck that cost me a bit to get sorted back to factory standard-ish. Personal plate added. Hopefully a bit more progress before 2022

First of all, love the black truck, have I missed a thread on it?
Secondly, I have finally moved, and in the last few days got in a position to start on my garage/workshop! So far, only a bit of painting and a lot of ordering of things, but I'm looking forward to having accessible toolage and a place to hit things...
I guess here might be a good place to say "Happy New Year" as well?

Discovered Retro Rides, made a few real and virtual mates here, made progress with current projects:-
started a new one,
and got some helpful advice and moral support here for them.
And apparently entertained some with:-
Continued to thrash the living daylights out of this:
yet contrary to the wisdom received from nany state, remained alive and uninjured.
And helped out a couple of people with apparently insoluble (according to well known dealers and indy "specialists") problems with old Jags.
Not a bad year for a 71 year old git.
ETA;- the rest of you contributors are doing ok too, and yes, a happy new year to all.

ETA, that also applies to some of the other posters on this thread.

The big car news for me this year was a new car joining the fleet: 560SEL with the 300bhp factory option code for the 5.5l V8. (more here: forum.retro-rides.org/thread/218451/nearer-covid-edition-weekend-cars ) It had been off the road for 15 years when I bought it, so required a lot of recommissioning, mostly to brakes, fuel system, engine and gearbox. This broke down with 4 faults simultaneously occurring: 3 of the 4 are now fixed... And in my spare time I replaced the cab floor in my VW T2: As well as taking it to Cornwall for a week: (mine on the left) Hopefully next year will allow me to complete the turbo swap on the MX5 and make a start on enlarging the garage space available here...

Maybe brachunky will have some updates, but I suspect it is happy motoring all the way.

Nothing too major appart from regular maintainance, did get the chance to go through the elan +2 and sort out loads of things I have meant to do for years (improved cooling, go through and repair / replace various bits of wiring, new fuel lines and various bits of trim)
I also have pile of bits to fit to the range rover, first task is to fit the bits needed to get it through it's MOT in January though.
Also have new mohair hood to go on the TR7V8 but that might need to wait till its warmer.

I finally completed repairs on my Saab 9000 - Got another B204 engine and box with 100,000 miles, a td04-19t turbo, tubular manifold, a escort cosworth intercooler, and discovered just how bloody difficult it is to make your own exhaust - It's the first time I fixed up a car that I didn't need to use so it was far more relaxed to do, and it's something I am really proud of after having so many serious setbacks. It's tuned to stage 2 and that's scary enough - Waiting for a new gearshift mech to be delivered & some minor central locking fixing and idle probs but otherwise MOT'd and in daily use.

Sadly due to the loss of both my parents this year, family stuff has taken over and I have done precious little on the little orange beast. I did however buy him some wheels in September.

I finally moved house (after trying for 18 months)so that my little boy could have his own bedroom. I insulated my new garage:
And my project car finally came to its new home (pictured here leaving my mums house):
And in its new home:
And i've done some work to it now:
