So from a forum search this has been covered a few times in the past, with varying opinions etc.. My CROWN is nearing the point of paint underneath following a bare metal weldathon. Once its done all areas will have been covered with hydrate 80/etch/epoxy then seam sealed.. however I'm not sure what to apply next. Raptor has up & down reviews, bilthamber epoxy-mastic sounds good, WAR is another on my radar, or open to any other suggestions? I've not decided on a body colour so anything that is black, or can be painted over at a later date is suitable.

I used raptor over the top of epoxy primer. Couldnt say how good it is since the car still hasnt seen the road but it does seem damn tough. i would avoid an epoxy mastic for the underside as it tends to set a bit hard and can chip/crack. if your not bothered for a fancy dry/clean look then some dinitrol undersealer might work well.

Thanks - I'm aiming for a clean, dry finish, just not completely hung up on it being body colour

If you're going to paint over it then gravitex. If your not then raptor. You can tint the raptor to body colour if you want.
Raptor is closer to the 80s rubbery underseal stuff they put on at the factory but I'm not too sure about painting over it. It might be fine might not!

I've used Bilt Hamber Electrolux Primer, Followed by Bilt Hamber Epoxy Primer, then Gravitex then in some really tough areas such as wheel arches, also applied Bilt Hamber Dynax.
My understanding was that Raptor was a bed liner and although tough wasn't too flexible. I've seen a video where it was tested and a body panel was battered, and the Raptor cracked off in sheets. That said, if it does that on the underside of your car, chances are you have bigger problems to worry about.

Nothing wrong with good old stonechip/body shutz. It dries nice and is overpaintable and does not chip off. Just make sure not to get the old style oil based one! Tetrosyl works well.

I found machinemart was the cheapest for the tetrosyl stuff when I did my D40.
