Having awful feedback from the recently installed stereo & amp in the Vic - I've narrowed it down to alternator noise because:
-ground loop isolators do nothing to help the signal
-different phono cables do nothing as well - the ones I've installed are high quality Alpine ones, and my replacements actually sounded worse
-wiring the stereo directly to the amp in boot cuts out all noise
-using the amp's known good earth and returning the stereo to the front still doesn't kill the noise
-using a different HU makes no difference as well
-noise corresponds to alternator spinning and changes tone/pitch in line with this
So I guess all that's left is to buy some sort of noise suppressor for the alt - has anyone used one? Got any wiring tips? There are several different designs and the wiring instructions are vague and contradictory online. Thoughts welcome!
